They sued the local school, the town of Lake Success..... fuck, I better remove their names before they come after me.... 23 articles to scan through here... wonder if they even ever ordered a top or just scan the internet for litigation opportunities!

This is really a shame - I really like their ram air hood and planned on buying it at some point, but I just don't trust at this point that if I did I would get anything.

Even if they made top quality, amazing products, how could anyone support a company like this after all that's transpired?

Out of sheer principle, I wouldn't purchase from them. Why reward this behaviour?

Unfortunately, agree, it seems unlikely ADV will have much money left at the end of this mess to pay back the millions they screwed customer out of.

It's possible a DA or AG will go after John or other owners personally for fraud. Could make it much harder for them to get a business license in the future and try to F people over again.

I know everyone's looking to get lawyers and ag's involved, but if you want them to pay attention, make it worth the effort: Get some publicity, e.g. some LA news and/or higher profile news outlet/magazine to cover it. Especially in that neck of the woods, they're all looking for shine on their own ass.

It ain't like it's not documented, blow-by-ever-frickin'-blow...

On this site I've been called a communist, a socialist, jealous and various things ... for questioning other people's buying decisions. I've learned some folks get quite upset if their spending is questioned.

I've also learned actual usage doesn't matter, instead it's about "how it makes you feel". So ... how are those ADV hardtop purchases making people feel?

Interesting enough there are some shady reviews going on in the last weeks to counter negative feedback. In my opinion, this time next year they will be operating as another company. People posting threads on here for fenders or hoods from this company are just gluttons for punishment.

people should attack the positive reviews. VERY easy to do, just go to the review, click the report button and choose "conflict of interest" stating the person works there... or pick another reason. if enough people flag the positive reviews, they will get removed.

Looks like you have the wrong Alan Mindel. There is an Allan Mindel in Indiana who is a lawyer, and an Alan Mindel in Great Neck NY which matches up with the filing in Nassau County NY who runs a family owned hospitality business (they appear to own/ manage 12 hotels around the US)
It does look like they sued the local school district as a neighbor due to landscaping construction they did that affected the Mindel property.
The lawyer was smart. Likely other Class actions out there already or coming, and eventually one court will decide who is the class representatives and assign counsel or co-counsel. The lawyers realized they can try to recover $ and 25% of it (more typical in Class suits) for doing the work.

People can still go on their own and sue in CA small claims court and not choose to be part of the class. Might be faster and smarter to get what money there is, while there still is something?
