Its frustrating. I would consider Anderson but honestly things aren't much different over there. That 28 weeks could end up being 56 weeks. One thing is for sure, delays are better than getting poor quality. If and when ADV gets their issues resolved -- it should be a great product. I'm sold on the foam core design.
I'm less sold on composite hardtop design (paper or foam core with bonded external skins). Initially I was sold on the idea, due to the potential benefits of temp/sound insulation, and certain structural rigidities.

Unfortunately we've seen the downsides of bonding failure and damage to the thinner outer skins. I'm thinking about my non-composite mostly single wall CJ/TJ tops and how they've been beat to hell over decades no worse for wear.

That said, after 4 months my OEM 2-door Bronco hardtop has been great. Knock on wood if I have a good version, I am more than willing to revise my composite opinion if the top holds up over time. Or if 5/10 years from now we're talking about how well the ADV tops are holding up, that would be great.

I think the other players in this field have watched and learned from ADV issues and to some point Andersons.

I do believe when Turn-Off Road prepares to release they will take a different approach as they have already done.

Armadillo has already taken a much different approach, and Rally-Top is actually delivering.

Anderson's "hollow" hard tops may be on to something. If you remember ADV's video showing a cut through of the hollow Anderson tops. Maybe the hollow-ness is fool proof.

If I remember, the anderson tops looked they had bracing points throughout which would help with strengthening.
Hopefully adv is looking at ways to correct issues.
I would rather wait until they get it right.
Hopefully soon
They put a lot of thought into the top, I'm confident they will get righy

Agreed. I'm only looking for an OEM hardtop now because I have 10k+ worth of gear thats supposed to be on that roof that's just been sitting in a garage and that's honestly the most frustrating piece. I honestly wouldn't mind the timeframe but overall, I have 16k+ invested in items I'm not even using haha
Sounds like a camper or a boat.

I wouldn’t call those items an “investment.” They’re probably making you as much money as you are by pre-paying for a hard top.

How about 'happiness' investments?
Well, I have my happiness investments roof rack with extra crossbar, and my rigid backup lights sitting since March 2022 in my porch. So used to all the boxes

Had to get pt3x4x10s, opened the hatch, lifted up the rear windo, closed the hatch. Put lots of padding on the rear hatch, gingerly placed the wood in the bronco, covered the wood with padding, dropped the rearwindow down and rested it on the wood padding. Made it home safely,
I don't want to do that everything I need wood over 6ft long.
But itworks for
Anybody else caught in the dilemma

I think that may be the Rally-Top they showed. In another thread, a person who has one of those spoke about how it was put together. Also had a diagram of the cross sections that looked like what showed in that video ADV posted.

The person did like their top and said it worked well and was quiet. So perhaps they are on something. Also looking at his top, it did not look bad.
