Hmm. And only an hour away from me. That armadillo top is starting to look very appealing.

I’ve looked at these online myself, and was intrigued, but I preferred the look of the ADV prototypes.
But now, given what my ADV top currently looks like, I’m curious to see one of these in person. They’re about 200 miles from me though…
I went down to their shop about a month ago after they did some testing on my Raptor (pics attached). Here’s my takeaway from being able to play around with it and see their facility: They started out making truck shells and jumped at the chance to make a Bronco top, so the thing is solid like a truck shell. It’s also shockingly light, which means they can ship it to your front door which I thought was cool. The gullwing doors and rear window were MUCH bigger than I pictured them to be and I’m excited to see how they look with MOLLE inside and out. I also saw how they plan to bolt on a Raket roof rack to the top and while I wasn’t planning on getting a roof rack on my bronco, the system they have in place has completely changed my mind. The roof panels will fit in the back of your bronco if you want to take them off on the go which I liked. One area of contention is the hardtop structure is not really intended to be taken off, so you will cover up the painted roll bars of the bronco even if you take all the roof panels, gullwings, and rear window off. I would think in the long run this would make the ride quieter than OEM. The sound deadening I was expecting to be soft like the OEM kind, but is more of a hard marine grade foam and they have a bunch of cool designs (not Velcro compatible 😢). I think even without it, it’s probably going to be quieter. I love how many ideas they had for accessories like MOLLE, cell phone booster, roof rack, etc. I can see how it looks a little ā€œapocalypticā€ but I think the non-slant back and even the slant back in black look a LOT more sleek in person. I wasn’t sold on it until I saw it in person, but they just got a Bronco from Bronco Adventures out of Vegas so I’m anticipating they’ll be posting a bunch more pictures on IG. They aren’t on this Forum, but they are all over Instagram with updates. And no, I’m not sponsored or compensated by them, I just like their product and the story of their business!

Although I don’t love it, it looks better than the digital renderings. Plus this is a non-finished prototype. I don’t think these would look bad on a Braptor but I’m not sure on a regular Bronco.

Thanks for sharing the pictures.

That Slant back looks horrible, what a loss of space!...the idea of them using aluminum and thinking outside the box is cool though..

They do have a square back with a similar slant to the ADV, I just never found myself using the top corner of the hardtop for extra storage šŸ˜‚ but we’ll see how it all looks when it’s polished off. This is an unpainted R&D version, not the newest or closest to their production model.

If the ADV top comes in by New Year's, I'm probably still inclined to go that direction as it looks like a great product (and I've already paid for it!), but it's good for everyone to have competition in this space.

I contacted them last week, and they told me my order was on track to ship in October, probably mid-month. Of course I still have an email they sent on 12/27/2022 stating "Your hardtop is just around the corner!" (I checked all my corners...)

I think the true keys are the liner and the install video being released

Looks interesting but I'd prefer something more along the lines of my 1972 Series III Land Rover top shown below. Structurally the aluminum top has held up well for decades, even after the vehicle was rolled on it's side.

The sections that make up the top aren't all that complex or difficult to form, and are put together with rivets. This particular version has sliding rear windows and a safari top to reduce heat from the sun.
