This. Have YOUR attorney team write the contract. The extra hours of attorney’s fees are 100% worth it. Especially in a sh!tshow like this.

And manufacturing in China is a whole thing. If you don’t have a person on the ground, managing the process, all you are going to get is containers of sh!t. (I’ve got 2 containers on water right now- gotta have someone in country)
And them opening a competing shop with your IP right next door 😏

Right? Assigning your IP to your production partner is nuts.
No need to sign it over, they will just copy / steel it and undercut you. Just look at Saleen & so many others ☹

Back in my Stang days. We used "stocker" for a Stang that had not had any motor work done. Just external bolt ons. 😁
This one was on the podium last week as a stocker and yes I was driving 😁

I'm in Cali, so I know that John at ADV in Costa Mesa is literally a 15-minute drive to George at APG in Garden Grove.

ADV alleges that they were strung along, duped, etc., paid APG millions, but at what point do you hop in the car, take a 15-minute drive to Garden Grove to check on how manufacturing or production is going? You see no tops, you see nothing happening, but continue with a project funded by pre-orders?

Is manufacturing actually being done in-house at APG, or is it being outsourced somewhere else?

Meanwhile on the main page of APGs site

Reminds me a little of BB and their website statement along the lines of Made in America doing otherwise will never be a consideration. Unless of course you want to steal the design from your partner & use China as the source to bring your cast iron portals to the masses 😏 (Website since removed Made in America spiel)

Edit: Actual BB Website quote at the time
"quality parts made in the USA will never be up for negotiation. "

Using someone else's beautifully crafted rear-end parts on the trail?

I mean have you seen that expedition one bumper!
That bumper is badass for sure. Wider than I wanted though so we just modded up a smaller one to accept the rear winch. Speaking of, we did use APG for the rear winch mount. Dimensions were tight on the sides and somewhat loose front to back, but the biggest thing is the powdercoat. Shit is garbage. You look at it crosseyed and it flakes off.
