Honestly not sure if one is better than the other.“They” say an air/oil separator is better than a catch can. You can research both and decide for yourself if you want to install one.
It does seem to be more beneficial on port injected engines than direct injected.
How about "Top Tier" gas? Sold by Shell, Chevron, ARCO, Exxon-Mobil, Costco, others. Usually a bit more expensive, it's supposed to have cleaners and other additives that are beneficial. Thoughts on the matter?I’m told… Premium Gas, I’m thinking about trying it.
There is really no way to know as every engine is a bit different, and you can't do a true test other than peoples anecdotal experienceHonestly not sure if one is better than the other.
But I will say Ford has an air/oil separator installed on the 2.3L from the factory.
Break it in gently, change the oil early and often, whenever you start the engine, make sure you let it get up to full operating temperature before you turn it off, and never run it hard when it’s not up to full operating temperature. Do those things and it will last for hundreds of thousands of free miles. I’ve driven Fords for over 2,000,000 miles and that system has worked for me. I’ve never had any type of mechanical or electrical problem with any of my vehicles.I’m looking for any mods or products that can potentially boost the longevity/reliability of the 2.3. Anyone have suggestions?
Don’t drive with a lead foot, appropriate and timely maintenance and love it.I’m looking for any mods or products that can potentially boost the longevity/reliability of the 2.3. Anyone have suggestions?
