Great job. I did something similar with mine except I used a std. Usb Led light strip hardwired into the 12v outlet with a 12v-5v converter and a switch.

I like this. How did you run the wiring? Do you have links to the components you used?

does anyone know if you can remove the light without breaking it. I want to add this extra light in my bronco, but its a 2 door and there is no panel to access the wiring.

well I figured out how to remove the stock dome light to access the wiring on a 2 door and have my lights working now. I am not sure how satisfied I am with the solution after going through all the trouble however. that 1 hour cutoff is pretty limiting. many times when I want to get into the back of the bronco and do something the truck has been off for more than an hour. it is kind of irritating to have to go turn on the accessories in order to get my light to come on. it might be better in retrospect to wire it to my stock dome light wiring. then I could turn it on anytime I opened the door. IDK I will live with it like this for a while and see how I like it. either way I still want the light bar to be activated by a switch so it doesn't turn on everytime I open the doors.

Was looking for camp lighting mostly while cooking and this thread did not disappoint. Subbing for future use.

I did a slight variation of this mod using an on-off-on switch.
one hot lead comes from the 12v power supply in the back and the other was supposed to come from the small cargo interior light.
I tapped the yellow wire from the interior cargo light harness. That wire seems to be hot when the truck is on not just when the interior lighting is on. So both “on” positions for my switch are basically the same.

The factory cargo light harness had three wires. Which wire do I need to tap so that the extra lighting comes on when the cargo light goes on (doors open etc)?

Since I tapped yellow and there was also black, I’m assuming that, if this is possible, it’d be the third wire in that harness.
Can anyone confirm if there is a wire that will power on and off my LED bars when the interior cargo light is lite?

I also found the very detailed video from the OP, but since I have molle panels Inside not feel like pulling everything out in order to get to that 12V wire. Initially I used a trigger cable to power off a cigarette to USB adapter (wanted to keep a USB port back there just in case) and the wireless control to turn on/off. However I discovered the hard way that in cold weather (around 15F) the batteries on the wireless don't function well. So I used a cigarette adapter with an on off switch that I had left over from my dashcam and it works perfectly for me. Yes the 1 hr power point timeout is a bit limiting but not terribly so.

How did you tap the dome light? I’m looking to do the same thing but with the existing cargo light on a 4-door. It goes on and off with the dome light (doors open etc)
There are three wires. Yellow, black and I think brown.
I’ve tested and it seems both yellow and brown stay hot 12v even after the dome/cargo lights fade off. Which means the light bar will stay on. It’s currently connected to yellow and that will keep it on when the truck is running and the cargo light is off.
I waited for the cargo light and dome light to fade off, then popped off the harness and tested the brown wire, and it stayed hot too.
not really clear on what tells the light to fade off.

I used a plug and play wiring adapter you can find the link here https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/thre...he-2door-hard-wire-option.65343/#post-1789527
The computer tells the lights when to fade off it has a setting where you can adjust slightly how long the lights will stay on

Apologies. I’m not sure I follow. The linked thread has the PnP harness for the 12V cigarette lighter adapter.
I used that to pull power and ground from the 12v so that I can switch the light to “always” on. *(until 1hr after power off)
I wanted the other switch position to set the light to go off and on with the dome/cargo light (doors open etc) like a normal interior light, but not have the light bar on otherwise.
that’s where I’m struggling to tap a wire from the cargo dome light.
