Is it possible to add the OEM front camera and harness to the lower trim (black diamond) for example and unlock the ability to use the camera?

I've looked but haven't seen it done yet.

What else would be missing?

Would a swap to the 12 inch screen be needed?

Thank you!

I contacted Galpin Auto Sports recently about this exact question for my ā€˜23 Wildtrak.

Is that for the OEM camera? I can get the camera and harness just not sure what else I need. Should be fairly simple just interesting that I have not seen others do it. Makes me think it's not unlockable or something.

Nothing is locked but obviously it isn't supported by Ford in any way, so it does require a bit of know-how to complete—not exactly a DIY project for most people. And on top of that, it's extremely expensive, fairly time consuming, and you have to tear apart large portions of the Bronco to get everything installed properly.

Economically it's just never made sense. The upgrade from the Mid package to the Lux package is $2,930. As @REKCUF posted... the cost to install just the front camera is more expensive than to upgrade to the Lux package, and none of it is covered by Ford's factory warranty. So in the vast majority of cases it just makes more sense to trade-in the Bronco for a new one with the Lux package.

---

I have seen several people do much more economical DIY upgrades though. @FordVideoGuy has one on his Big Bend, for example.

I got a eBay $25 ā€œback upā€œ camera and screen kit I plan to mount/wire as front camera for those few times it may be handy off road…https://www.ebay.com/itm/2964630461...9UcLsasT5q&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
I did the same and power it with an aux switch. Video cable is routed to the dash and I can easily mount and plug in the display when on trails.

I’ve see people using the wolfbox rear view mirror. And others use the naviks interface to feed aftermarket video to the 8ā€ display

I have a box of analog cameras for FPV drones that I don't use (moved to digital FPV). These are common, cheap, and only require 3 wires - video, power, ground. They are basically small security cameras in metal cases and can connect to any analog monitor/TV via RCA cables.

Most importantly if it breaks there are hundreds if not thousands of these cameras and analog monitors/TVs and can be easily swapped unlike what you buy on eBay or Amazon. A single lipo battery can power the monitor and camera without the need to hook up into the Bronco's 12V.

I add three wireless wifi cameras (2 underbody to watch wheels) & 7'' screen. Works pretty good. I get the idea from this forum.

The 360 camera was one of the main reasons I went with the Lux pkg on my 22 BL. Unfortunately, lux wasn’t an option on my 24 HE. Love my Heritage, but really miss the camera! Luckily, I’m able to keep both!
