Friday it was 85 degrees and Sunday driving home it was 33-35 and rain/sleet/snowing out. The roads are plenty warm so nothing was sticking but the snow and ice was sticking to the front of the Bronco so the sensors got covered up as expected. I get the warning that the adaptive cruise can't work (ice covered sensors), ok, this was expected. What I didn't expect was that there was no cruise at all then. Is there a way while driving to disable the adaptive cruise so that I can still use the cruise control? This weather is not uncommon and it is going to really suck if I can't use the cruise every time this happens.

Yes, you have to go under settings and disable adaptive cruise. Regular cruise then becomes available. It really should revert to regular cruise when adaptive isn’t functioning, but Ford programmers left that out.

good to know, I'll look for that when I have a chance and I'm not in a snowstorm. I was only 15 miles from home so I didn't worry about it, if it was at the start of our 4 hour drive I would have dug into it a little deeper but between the cruise warning going off and the parking aid warning going off while I am driving 70 in a snowstorm I wasn't going to play around looking for it. Thanks

It’s probably more of a safety item that it doesn’t go back to a regular cruise. Just because I’m sure there is people out there who think it’ll slow down still when it sees another vehicle. (Engineer for a forklift company, trust me I’ve seen too much lol)

The Chrysler van I had, had two separate buttons on the steering wheel--one for adaptive cruise, one for regular cruise.

But, my OBX now is just a high package, so no adaptive cruise.
