Noticed it in the excel docx, but not much context nor other posts regarding this.
Has anyone successfully done this/had a shop install an aftermarket remote start on their MT?

Thanks

I wouldn't want to to do this since if you remote start it when the vehicle is in gear, catastrophic damage could accur. There's a reason ford and any other automaker or aftermarket vendor doesn't offfer one. Is it possible? Yes. Is it safe? Absolutely not.

I was just checking into it the other day and nobody in the aftermarket game makes a compatible module yet as far as I was able to find.

The good manual remote starts have several fail safes to prevent that, but it does mean relying solely on your parking brake and leaving it out of gear. But I've noticed leaving it in gear doesn't stop a roll away anyway unless you're in R or C, even then if it's a steep incline I don't trust it.

Compustar is the only brand out there i've been able to find that makes them for MT's with the correct safety mechanisms. Nothing avail. yet for Bronco's. Wasn't sure if there was one out there I missed.

Compustar was my first choice but I checked Viper and Avital as well. Hopefully by next winter...

It's a massive liability and a violation of NHTSA regs to allow a manual transmission to have the ability to remotely lurch forward.

That being said, the modules to remote start are the same regardless of vehicle, it's just required to either not install remote start or the sensor that defeats it in MT equipped cars.

If you have a buddy who's an installer, you can get a remote start module on your Bronco. Just pray you never have an incident, because you'll have no insurance coverage and will be out of pocket on everything relating to an incident with it.

Considering Teslas are rolling around remotely running people over and causing all sorts of havoc and mayhem, I think the NHTSA can suck it on this topic.

Let the man have his Remote start.

Ah, what kills one person is not the same as what kills another.

Just ask the most recent Mr. Checkov how that non-intuitive Jeep UX gear shift is going.... Too soon?

My work around was to install a block heater (which is $100 from factory and $300 in parts over the counter).

It’s not extremely cold where I live - but, I have a very short commute and I figured it would be better for wear & tear.

Has anyone else seen this thread? Implies there's now a Forscan change to enable remote start for manuals (unless that's the one F1NDx noted originally, in which case never mind <g>)

I’m a little late to the party but committed to getting remote start to work. 22 2.3MT badlands Sasquatch mid. Is anyone still trying? I’ve done everything in Forscan . The remote start shows up in my radio settings . Ordered a key. Programmed it to the truck.. but . It doesn’t seem to communicate . I get 3 red flashes from the remote with every button and no key detected when trying to start. But programming was successful, so it says.. if anyone else is still trying I’m here to chat and figure it out .

Have you changed the antenna? Manual remote and automatic don't use the same frequency you need to change the antenna it's located on the rollbar

I have not. I seen they were different frequencies .. I wasn’t sure if the receiver was that accessible or plug and play. Kinda figured it was integrated into a module , without doing any research .
