Almost 10k miles, first issue. I’ve noticed during driving on-road 2H (I mostly drive on Sport) I get a pop up on the dash screen- something related to 4WD… it disappears too quick to read while driving. Happened few times the last couple weeks. So I decided to check the transfer case. Depressed the clutch and quickly engaged to 4H. Moved few feet, depressed the clutch and pushed 4L and it doesn’t engage- asked to move a bit and stop, and still nothing. The 4L light on the GOAT keeps flashing until i turn off the engine or I get error messages on the dash - once the engine is off, it goes back to the last mode- 2H/4H. Any solution other then going to the dealer?

That’s not good. Have you used 4L at all? Do you have 4A?

I tried the 4L for 30 seconds at the day I picked up, and 4H less than 60 minutes in 10 months. Most trails I’m going are more fun in RWD ha ha. Oh and I don’t have 4A

Hello! Could you privately message us with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer so I can look into this concern? Thank you!

Update… this morning it’s stuck in L4 - no screen or goat indication. Have to go to a meeting with my trusty 31 years old Miata. Now waiting for a tow truck

Sounds like something beyond this but: With the auto the transmission must be in neutral for a 4L shift, in or out, you said you clutched it but did you put it in neutral?

Update: dealer said the GOAT knob is bad, and hope to find one before the weekend. I think it’s a false diagnosis, but I hope I’m wrong.

Update 2: picked up after 13 days, just to find out it stuck in the 4L again at the first try. It’s been 28 years since my previous Ford , and this going into the same direction. I had a big hope for the new Bronco and I wish it was more reliable. :(
