Well my first look under the bronco for more than just rinsing the underbody.
1. not a grease fitting anywhere to be found.
2. No old school unjoints they are all sealed cv type? Joints no grease fittings.
3. Really ford you couldn’t put a door in the skid plate to access the oil drain plug 🤦. Hopefully An aftermarket company will pick up on this as I see dropping the plate for service every time is a pain to me.
4. they must Have used the cheapest exhaust pipe known to man already heavy pitting and scale. My 2017 superduty exhaust looked almost new when I sold it this year.
5. surprised but not shocked the trans pan is plastic as well but no protection at all.

Do you live in an oxygen rich salt mine? That looks like crap, I have the same-ish mileage as you and mine still looks brand new

Well I live in Michigan lol. Just makes me more disappointed that I had to drive it in the salt before I could get it undercoated. The bronco I put a deposit Wasn’t supposed to be available until march. This one the guy backed out of so I got it early. Sad thing is we have not had a hard winter not as much salt as I’ve seen in other years.

A few weeks anywhere in the rustbelt will do that to uncoated surfaces.
I expected the drive & cv shafts but the exhaust concerned me haven’t seen one get this bad this quick in 10 years.

Took a look the other day when someone commented about there's at a Home Depot.

Clean-ish aside from the dirt and snow.

Not surprised at all by the lack of grease fittings. I would think most vehicles have sealed systems these days (my '06 Jeep TJ has 7 fittings in the front suspension/steering components).

What kind of undercoat do you plan on doing?

This is kind of like inspecting the kitchen of your favorite restaurant. Probably better off not doing. Just order your favorite dish, enjoying it and move on.

I have been using rus fre brand for years as that’s what we used in the collision shop. Wax for all interior panels and the rubberized fiber infused stuff for underneath. Have done my last 4 vehicles and it holds up well. (Also should mention that since 2015 I’ve had three trucks, a traverse, blazer now the bronco). I don’t keep stuff that long but still like to protect them. The price went up this year to $70 ish bucks a gallon a for or the wax based clear (in my local market online probably cheaper) but still worth it. The rubberized is less $$. Now it’s never going to be as good as new. The last ones I bought in summer So I could clean and dry well. With the Bronco market I didn’t have that luxury if I wanted one. Now it will take me many weekends if cleaning wire brushing acid whatever methods to get all this nasty off and then probably an etch prime, por 15 then finally undercoat. I really thought about having it flat bedded to a friends shop but they are so busy it didn’t work out.
