There was a time when you couldn't get a four door hard top. There are many who would swap you. Place a want to trade ad in this forum

Not sure how much you've dug into it, but here are the soft top conversion highlights.

There are 2 main soft tops, the Ford factory one, and the Bestop Trektop. The Bestop is sold as a licensed Ford Accessory.

The Bestop is generally considered to look nicer (tauter fabric, no wavy back windows). It also has a slanted "fastback" rear window. However, it doesn't feature the tilt up mechanism to access the trunk, so you have to duck under the rear window to load the cargo area (basically, all trunk access is through the tailgate). The Bestop also doesn't fold all the way down. The only open position is flipped back, so you have open air above you, but the rear windows are still in place.

The Ford factory one has the functionality described above (tilt up to access cargo, folds all the way benind the rear roll bar). However, it is not available to purchase new (at this time).

As mentioned by another commenter, the hard top is typically in higher demand, so it is fairly easy to find an unused (or lightly used) factory soft top for sale, on Craigslist, Marketplace, this forum, etc.

The Bestop one comes new and is easily installed with instructions. The factory one is used, so you don't get instructions, but you can search this forum for posts, several people have posted walkthroughs. It's also a relatively simple process (I did it this summer).

If you do get a used factory top from another Bronco owner, there are several brackets that you need to make sure are included. 6 of these (3 pairs) will likely need to be removed from the previous owner's Bronco. The walkthrough posts should explain that, but if you have any specific questions, feel free to reply to me and I'll give the info I can.

I really like how the factory soft top looks. I was just not sure if i get a used soft top, i can install it on mine since mine is hard top. I guess i will have to find a used one! But this was so helpful, thank you so much🙏

I'm new to this site and not sure what the "walkthrough posts" are or where they are located...

I have a factory Hard top and I need those 6 items to install the Soft top that I just purchased from Marketplace. I'm so excited to go topless! Thanks for the help

Welcome to the rabbit hole!

The "walkthrough" posts mentioned earlier are generally found in threads talking about the specific topic (in this case soft top) you are looking for. Do a search for "install soft top" or something along those lines and you will find posts within that thread giving a fairly thorough explanation, most times, with pictures, of how to go about doing what you are looking to do.

Drill down even further and search "soft top brackets" and you will find posts (I believe there was a very recent thread) talking about the brackets. I think there was even a part number from one of the many gurus here in that recent thread.

Ask away, but try and search first. Most topics have been covered, over and over, and some will let you know that.

Welcome and hope you enjoy your bronco!
