2024 Big Bend ordered without tow/hitch package

So I ordered my 2024 Big Bend right when they started accepting orders, at that time the salesman said there was no hitch/tow package option to order on it so we ordered it without.

Took delivery a couple weeks ago and just got around to looking by the hitch, there’s a sort of metal cover and when I finally looked there’s something wired in it and here’s what I found.

Funny enough, when I took delivery the salesman said he had to clear the ability to sell the hitch with legal because they worried I would hook a trailer and ‘not have a wiring harness’ which could be a liability for them.

Yeah I read about that on a different forum right after he said he 'couldn't' add the tow option during ordering . The only thing is that he told me there was no wiring. Now I'm just seeing that Ford doesn't sell a specific hitch/assembly for the 2024 that makes use of the integrated wiring harness.

and a hitch. Your choice of OEM to Amazon random.

I would be curious to see if the wiring worked immediatley with the Hopkins or if there needed to be some programming. Maybe the tow module is installed? Maybe it is not?

And the Hopkins one is made by Pollak.

Also, some of the Amazon hitches come with both a 4 pin and 4/7 combo pin mounting face for you to choose. Look carefully and look even more carefully at the welds, etc. I'm not sure if this is the place I would want to go cheap on and prefer well-known names like Curt or OEM but who am I to say that some Amazon no-name is not going to cut it?

Cool, had been searching but could not find anything; part of the issue of a new model year with minor changes.

All Broncos are wired for tow package for MY24

Man I wish that was the case for earlier models. I installed an aftermarket kit and by far the most time consuming was the wiring

I know that this has been covered elsewhere but sharing again on 24’s this is a super easy install. Hardest part was the module install and trying not to break any interior clips.
