I'm a bit confused. my 08 F-150 has one switch, 2H,4H,4L. That's it, typical 4WD truck. My 13 Explorer has the rotary switch, aka terrain management. like the mule. On the hatch of my Explorer it has an emblem that says 4WD (not what I think of when I think of 4WD)
Explorer is FWD for the most part and then splits to the rear depending on where that switch is.
Truck is RWD then, splits front to rear evenly, and lastly a selection for lower gearing.
I know this is just a mule but rotary switch not for "off-road enthusiasts" IMO Which is what the Bronco is for, or so we are told.
What is for the "off-road enthusiasts" is a transfer case lever. IMO there should be two levers, one for the front diff and one for the rear diff, but that's another story.
Does the Ranger or Raptor or current F-150 have both, lever and rotary switch ?? Is there a reason to have both ???
Most models just getting terrain management and then just the Warthog getting the transfer case lever ???
My take on the spy pics is a good one, I like the layout. I expected the upfitter switches, have seen them in the Super Duties. As far as the dash pod I have the same kind of symbols on my grizzlies, one for 4WD and one for diff lock. So I suspect that is what they are here. Not huge table, not huge vents. in general I like it. it is just a mule.

I was thinking the new explorer that is a rear drive platform. From what I saw I thought the 4wd ones were 4 auto with terrain management. go to the locking transfer case thread they explain it there.
The Ranger has a knob/dial similar to the one pictured here. You use the knob to select 2H/4H/4L, and I believe that there's a button in the middle of it that brings up the terrain mode menu.
My mom's XTerra has a knob. The Toyota Tundra uses a knob (which mine doesn't have, because it's 2WD, so instead, the factory installed a change holder, which is actually kind of handy, but not as handy as 4WD). Knobs for 4x4 mode selection are kind of the thing now.

I’m going to guess somewhere in the middle. I can’t imagine front and rear (and center?) diff locks on the base model, but I also assume they won’t be showing us the absolute top of their performance game yet

Back to the roof, it could be like the Corvette and just put the latches under the sun visor, also still think it's gonna be full open top just with weird indent for the upfitter switches or like someone said it will just push the b roof of the a Piller back but this is way to high for guessing and should just wait for the reveal
I'm thinking it's to throw people off.
