I read the "average" new car is now $47k. Not sure if that includes tax, tags and delivery. I paid $39k for a BD with 10k on it before tax, tags and delivery. No complaints. The Bronco is not meant to be a comfortable crossover that gets 30 mpg. It's a lifestyle vehicle that will get hurt worse on sales when the economy/interest rates are not that strong. My 2 door 7MT is for fun - not practicality. Understand what you are getting into. My Explorer is for ease of use. Bronco for having fun.

Nailed it, Bronco sales will suffer in a choppy economy. You know what sells now? Practicality....go look at the Maverick numbers.

My local dealer has had a boatload of Broncos on the lot for quite a while. I see the same ones, row after row. They are lucky if they sell one every month or two. They have three BRaptors as well, and have for many months. I enjoy my 2 DR Wildtrak but realize I paid way too much for it. I live no where near good or city roads but a maverick would have been a smarter choice for us but I was caught up in it myself. Now the value has dropped $20k on my 6k miles Bronco so no way on earth I could sell (I paid under MSRP but still abut $15k too much. These are way overpriced, just like Wranglers. The Jeeps are better in some ways (interior quality is one of them) the Bronco better in others (more room, more refined drive, etc).

But broncos are not selling well at all around here. Since I bought mine 4 months ago or so I believe my dealer has sold 1-2 of them. One was a Heritage and the other a Wildtrak.

If prices stay the same or go up I will not be so sure about the future of this vehicle.

I havent driven a manual jeep, but the manual on the Bronco is loads of fun. Plus the 2.3 with the turbo just works well with it. Yeah, they are both very different vehicles and each has their own advantages and disadvantages.

We need Granger to start getting Bronco allocations again and I bet Ford would see more sales. Instead they will ship them to the dealer lots and have them sit.

I remember the dealers telling everyone, you should pay full price because this is a special vehicle....Now that they are crowding the lots in mass quantities we will see how the pricing holds up...or doesnt.
BTW, the manual Jeep was manufactured in 1984. I don't think they have a manual one at this time (I could be wrong.) Nowadays I think any manual vehicle gets special discounts on insurance because nobody has 'em or can drive 'em except a few Boomers and Gen Xers (joke actually). If my wife wasn't going to be driving the Bronco occasionally I would have opted for the manual. This is another sign of the times. Due to emissions The automatics are a better option since they have more gears now. Speaking of which emissions standards are another reason Bronco prices are high. Catalytic converters aren't cheap and neither are all the electronics that modern vehicles have. I would imagine all the electronics and emissions control devices are about 10% to 15% of the price of your vehicle, not to mention safety equipment like airbags. If Airbags and emissions equipment were optional I wonder what the price would be?

No, you are not joking. I have a 7MT I got at a reputable and regional used car dealer - and the sales guy about age 30 could not drive a stick. I got the 7MT as a fun second vehicle. I buy and hold, so should have this for 15 years or so. By then it will be all EVs and autos, so I wanted to enjoy the 7MT as a guy on the cusp of Gen X/Boomer who can enjoy the last of an era. Also, while I live in a pretty safe area, you never know about a carjacking. I will get out and run and the young carjacker will not be able to drive a manual!

Well, I've watched how the $29,900 base I would have liked (but didn't order because I don't believe in buying first year Total redesigns....of any brand) turn into the now $43,700 Big Bend, as my min choice, also losing the two-tone sandstone interior that appealed to me from the very beginning.
That's a $14,000 increase within 3 yrs, while losing one of the features that would have talked me into a big bend. All the while still hearing comments about the "cheap feeling" interior of the of the bronco.
If you ask me, Ford made too many changes with the bronco, too quickly. They couldn't even fill the orders they had, they were changing the options right in front of people's noses.
I'm still glad I didn't get a first year bronco, after all the trouble I've heard. And I still think it's totally stupid that you can't get the manual with a V6. What kind of brain dead muskmelon at Ford decided this one? Do they actually think people who prefer manuals also prefer stripped with minimum engine? Isn't that kind of like making the manual on a mustang only available with a 4 cyl? Makes absolutely no sense.
And to charge a premium for that is crazy.

Dear Ford. Ask people what they want changed in the bronco. Get rid of this stupid gimmicky dashboard. Stop discontinuing options before you actually have a chance to sell units.
I still cannot find a two-door standard, hard top anywhere near me.
And to those who say that is because they don't sell, those $100,000 raptors that are all over the lots by me, are just sitting there, just like the original poster with the YouTube video showed.
It's certainly seems to me that Ford has definitely overplayed their hand with the bronco.
They literally ruined it before they had a chance to improve it 🙄

Just imagine if the internet existed, in it's current state, back in '72, would be some interesting posts about the quality of that Gran Torino and the rising interest rates and gas prices!

A starting price increase of $14k from 36 months ago, is quite a bit different then comparing it to '72 or getting pizza for .50. So get a grip.
That's nearly a 50% price increase to get your ass in a Bronco...... within 36 months.
And what was their excuse again for dropping the base?
Oh that's right, they were selling too many of them. Too many basesquatches.
Too little profit margins more like it.
If you ask me it would have been better off blanketing the road with bases. Like I said, Ford overplayed their hand, big time.

I'd have been perfectly happy with an FX4 Ranger (much less a Raptor) if FoMoCo would build it with a stick shift.

I just bought Dirt at $24/ton 2 weeks ago, now it's $36/ton. 50% inflation in 2 weeks.

Local dealer has 24 Mavericks rotting on the lot. All Tremors. Base models sell before delivery.

I'm seeing tons of new Broncos on the road in my area these days. A lot more than there were just few months ago. Most are pricey, sasquatched, high trim levels too. So they were selling quite a few, at some point in the recent past. Haven't checked local inventory, but high prices didn't deter folks from buying the ones already on the road.

I bought my Wildtrak back in April. Shopped a few dealers and no one was charging ADM fees anymore, though there weren't budging from MSRP.

The price of entry has just gone up on vehicles across all makes and models. Not just Ford, and not just Bronco.
I also see more Broncos of various types in my area, including some Braptors.

But prices haven't gone up the same for all makes/models. The MSRP on my 2020 Kia Soul was $18,485. The 2024 MSPR is $20,190. That's around a 10% increase. Bronco especially with the loss of base model, has effectively gone up quite a bit.

I will fully disclaim I have no idea who this youtuber is, so I cannot validate his claims, plus it is a very small channel (it just popped up in my might like que). BUT the anecdotal lots I have seen both in person and on-line inventory would lead me to believe he is close. I know there is a website out there that somewhat accurately tracks this.

I will agree with two statements he makes and disagree with one.

Agree:
- Too expensive, MSRP is beyond stupid and people willing paying(ed) markups just incentivized dealers to make all they could (good for them on doing so!)
- For the size and the MSRP they are hitting up against pricing for more familytruckster cars that are more comfortable and useful for family's - more practical but potentially somewhat more expensive. (not getting a "toy").

Disagree:
- People not wanting them any more. <--- Edit: what I disagree with. What I think is the case. ---> I think the early adopters got ours, but the hype for the average buyer is now closer to normal and pricing is out of line with what they want to pay.
I think the phrase, "it's the economy stupid" comes into play with the degree of inventory we see on the lots. People just do not have the money for a $50-$100K vehicle.
4 months ago a local dealer got in a 2024 Raptor. I was quite interested in it until I saw that they bumped over the MSRP by $15K.....while I see Raptors all over at MSRP. As I recall it was around 99,999 MSRP. I made other vehicle arrangements, kept current Bronco and sold 2 other vehicles. After that, the dealer came down to MSRP. The salesman hit me up, but I had already made changes to my vehicle ownership status. It is now down to $93,500.00 and has been for a few weeks...no takers. No fault of my nice salesman but the dealerships just got too greedy and are not watching pricing around their state or the country for that matter.

One thing that really torqued me at a local dealership that I fired, they jerked me around, trying to get me into a more expensive one. I wanted an Outer Banks, kept trying to get me into a Black Diamond (Bigger tires, soft tops and rubber interior.) They have 3 local lots here and a 4th some distance away. They had almost the exact one I wanted in stock, but wouldn't sell it to me, I actually went right down the list of equipment and gave the stock number. Went to another dealership and bought this blue one. Part of Ford's issues is their fudged up dealerships and incompetent salespeople. Another issue with Ford, Their website search is horrible. I had much better luck with it 5 years ago, now it is horrible.

All the dealerships want is a monthly payment and to obscure the price you actually pay for the vehicle. Out of three dealerships in a moderate distance I ended up buying over the phone from a dealership 87 miles away.

Happiness is buying parts with your Ford Pass points at the dealership who had bad salespeople and honking and waving to them as you pick up parts for a car you bought at another dealership.

Just wait for the 2026 models for their 60th anniversary! They’ll promise some fancy model that you won’t be able to order because the 1,966 to be built will be pre-sold to friends of the Ford executives, or only those who have an order pending and can change. All for a premium us mere humble farmers can’t afford anyway.
The more I research and the more I see number games on options and availability with Ford, the more I wonder if I’ll even be happy with the bending over I’ll have to do to get a Bronco. They took my son’s order, built it like THEY wanted it, and stuffed it down his throat. Take it or leave it. Leave it? Lose your reservation. Then, offered ford points for the hard top he didn’t get, that wouldn’t come close to the cost now that the hard top finally came out as an accessory over two years later. Back then, the Black Diamond non-squatch was too much towards the “base type” model that didn’t turn profit. Build it stripped. Get it out the door for eye candy while we tease the public. Then ramp up the First Editions, Wildtracks, etc. and fund this circus.. I suspect we’ll see tons of model changes and options to draw in buyers and continue to jack up prices. This is getting to the point you’ve gotta be a white collar executive to afford a Bronco. Certainly not like the Heritage of the Bronco when I was a kid. That’s Ford. Bet we won’t see Ford respond to this post.
