I doubt it as there is no truth to the fact you can’t order a 2.7.

Don't want to sound crass, but people die in factories. It's not frequent but it does happen. Typically it's investigated and if there is an opportunity for safety improvements they are made. Maybe, maybe, see a day or two lost production.

Also, it says in the article that the person who died was a maintenance technicians. Means the equipment was probably not in a production mode and the equipment probably does not need modifications to operate safely in a production mode. Probably some changes to maintenance procedures assuming the people involved were following all the current maintenance procedures correctly.

When are people going to realize that if news like that isn’t posted here, it’s just simply not true?

From what I've read, the 2.7 is a constrained item as its the popular engine choice. I was able to place an order for a 2.7.

Me as well. 2022 BD 2 door EG with 2.7 scheduled week of 12/20.

When I ordered mine last month to convert to 2022 my salesman did say that getting a 2.7 was on the 5 parts or combination of parts that could push the wait time into late next year. I think he said MIC top, towing package, Sasquatch package, 2.7 engine and tailgate sliding table I think.
