It is very similar from what I have seen. I'm sure you could replicate their relocation concept. It is EXTREMELY tight. My concern is hoses rubbing. It wouldn't take much to compromise.
I decided it is too much risk. I like the LOBO design overall. It is easy on the 2.3L as there is...
Rough Country mount is junk.
Ours was bent up after 1 trip. It is not strong enough for any impact or skid use. LOBO hidden winch skid is the solution. But you'd need to buy both in order to have the relocation parts from RC. Although, it looks sketchy for the heat exchanger... If any of...
Correct. It won't be in the "ideal" zone at least in the "baseline" starting position. However, suspension is not static. It has to compensate from wherever the suspension position is actively.
There is nothing that will "break" due to slight increase in ride height. It will cause increased...
Correct. It is best to keep 100% stock for factory performance. HOWEVER!!! If you add weight to the equation: armor, bumpers, winch, camping gear or whatever modifications... you will RUIN the "factory" design performance parameters.
There are a few things that need to be pointed out from...
Why ruin a dialed Raptor? It is geared for 37s. Brakes for 37s. Steering for 37s. Clearance for 37s.
Going bigger is just for looks. It will detract from braking, steering feel, acceleration, mpg / range... You'd need to modify a ton of parts to restore original performance on road and...
Factor 55 builds top quality recovery products. My current favorite is the Flat Splicer! It is similar to the FlatLink which easily attaches to any winch ropes with a pin connection. However, the Factor 55 Flat Splicer is different as it eliminates the synthetic rope end loop. Instead, the winch...
Great location! Lobo doesn't affect approach angle. RC is junk we bent ours up the first trip out.
I'm curious the impact on radiator cooling (hot climates) with the IC high mount relocation.
Love the 9.0RC winch. Feet forward mounting would be ideal in that location.
Might need some...
XL80 driving lights can be operated in 2 modes (as wired above):
1. On/Off with the AUX 2 switch (like normal)
2. On/Off with high beams. This requires: 1. Turning on the AUX 2 switch. 2. Turning on the factory fog light switch. At that point the XL80 lights will turn off with standard...
The XL80s are not SAE road legal. We use them on the forest and back roads without traffic. Haven't had issues so far with wiring method. I don't see how it could "back feed". Love the ability to use the lights with the switch or high beams. :)
Modern CAN Bus wired vehicles make simple wiring projects complicated or seemingly impossible. Simple things like turning auxiliary lights on and off with the factory headlight high beams. On older vehicles you could tap the factory headlight high beam wire into a relay for powering auxiliary...
Yes. It is nice to hear the motor vs trying to watch the less than useful vertical dash rev graph. It makes me laugh listening to the pops and ridiculous noises from the little engine. Fun is not logical...
Everyone seems obsessed with appearance...
I've grown to like the appearance. It is purposeful. Hidden winch is much nicer than the ugly wart factory mounts (and similar). Tight profile.
Probably should paint the factory skid black...
Thoughts??
LOBO hidden winch mount is 100% not interfering with the intercooler. It is under and behind the intercooler (no relocation required). 12K winch is too much for a little Bronco. 8K or possibly 10k is more than enough. We installed a Warn VR 8S (fit with control pack installed).
2.7L or 3.0L...
We finish the Carli Suspension Ford Bronco Winch Bumper Install. This is the complete install including Baja Designs XL80 and S2 Lights and Warn VR 10S Winch w/ fairlead. Plus, we show the modifications required for Raptor Bronco fitment.

Lobo bumper completely blocks the intercooler. We have the LOBO Hidden winch mount on our 2.3L. This is BY FAR the best solution. Weight down low. Clutch easily accessible. Does not hinder approach angle. Less weight. Provides a skid and winch mount in one solution.
Carli Bumper the...
