  1. 2 Door roof rack (clamshell only) recommendation

Here are a few where you can see the rack well (and our rather thin Christmas tree from last year).
  2. 2 Door roof rack (clamshell only) recommendation

I'll second the trailrax half rack. I do have the side pack structure and rarely take my rear roof off. But the trailrax has been fantastic. It's held up very well. You can also use a sunrider quite well with it, so you can have a soft-top front that's easy to flip up and a roof rack on the...
  3. Excessive paint wear on tailgate

Ah, thanks! That's super helpful to know!
  4. Excessive paint wear on tailgate

Has anyone else had issues with significant paint wear on the tailgate where the seals contact? I haven't heard that many squeaks and rattles, but I'm noticing paint rubbed completely off in a lot of places (photos in a sec). I'm running stock size tires, albeit heavier than the OEM Goodyears...
  5. Bronco Dimensions Card for Parking Garage

You've got a unique model. 4-door from the side and a 2-door when viewed from the top! Seriously, though, that's a cool idea. I'm a good bit taller than stock, especially with the roof rack, and I often forget exactly how high.
  6. Badlands Question

This is one of the things the goat modes are actually quite good for. The cameras stay on at higher speeds with any offroad goat mode enabled. E.g. you can do 70 mph in baja mode with cameras on IIRC (haven't tested it in a bit, but I don't remember them shutting off unless you explicitly turn...
  7. Badlands Question

I originally wanted the mid package, but wound up buying dealer inventory instead of a custom order. I found one on a lot that was _almost_ a 100% match to what I'd been planning to order. The only downside in my mind was that it came with the lux package and I thought that was just stuff I...
  8. Adaptive Cruise control with traffic jam monitoring

At least for me (2023 w lux), it starts going again unless things come to a complete stop. The threshold is 0, rather than 8mph or something for me. But with that said, even a fraction of a second at a complete stop requires you to hit the gas again to start going.
  9. Offroad/overnight backpacking combo

I don't live in TN anymore, but my list would be (not necessarily in order): Prentice Cooper State Forest (near Chattanooga) is something I'd highly recommend that's close to you. No backpacking _right_ there, but some great offroad trails and great hiking trails. Camping in the immediate area...
  10. Big Bend National Park

Old Ore Road is a great trail in addition to the better know Black Gap and River Road trails. I highly recommend getting backcountry permits and camping. You can do a multi-day loop with river road, black gap, and old ore road. Pine Canyon is a really great hike that gets almost no traffic. If...

Likewise! Had a blast and was great to meet all of y'all. Thanks again for the invite!

    Utah Bronco Owners Unite!

Didn't see folks in the air down spot, so we headed up to the big tailings pile. Hopefully, we'll run into y'all, but if not, no worries!

    Utah Bronco Owners Unite!

If y'all don't mind one more, we'll probably be out there. Don't wait on us, but we'll try to be there before 11. 2 door green bronco with my wife and I and the dog.
  14. Most Bang-for-Your-Buck Off-Road Mods?

Best bang for the buck mods for me have been DIY interior things. Replacing the rear seats with a platform for the dog, and adding some straps to the rear windows to hold lightweight odds and ends. The cost wasn't $0, but it wasn't much, and they do exactly what I want them to. If you have...
  15. Stock tune on Bilstein 8112 is garbage; re-tuned with linear piston

This may have already been said, but all least for me (2-door), the spring rate is significantly higher than stock. Putting things on their softest setting does indeed give a horrible ride, but even one click stiffer makes a huge difference and really improves ride quality. They're still a touch...
  16. A Winch Would've Been Nice 🤣

I'll add another vote for the Ford performance one in case you can find it somewhere. It's fairly easy to find kits to move the sensors, and camera relocation kits abound. It also doesn't affect the adaptive cruise at all in my experience. The fact that the Ford one reinforces the frame horns...
  17. One wrench to rule them all?

I think if you're trying to get super flexible tools it's not worth it (side note: Knipex pliers-wrench are great, though). Sure, stick a multitool in the glovebox, but don't feel like you need to fix everything with a bad tool. I think it's better to have a few specific tools that you're...
  18. New! Hothead Headliner for the Bestop Sunrider® – ORDER Now! 🚀

I also installed just the sunrider liner this weekend and was really blown away by the noise reduction. It was a long trip with a lot of 80mph speed limit interstate driving on windy days. I've had the sunrider installed for years and love it, but wind noise and "flapping" is brutal at high...
  19. Roof Rack storage configurations - what's yours?

Yeah, it's a nice balance. I like it a lot with the sunrider too. Nice to have a half hard with a rack and half soft top to flip open.
  20. Roof Rack storage configurations - what's yours?

Apparently, I don't take many photos of the rig packed... The only one I can find is from a couple years ago on a shorter trip but with a full load to test things. There's not a ton inside due to the dog bed setup, so most is on top of a half rack on a 2-door. Up top is a gazelle tent (bulky...
