I'm no engineer but I think torque rating of a transmission is torque coming in, final drive wouldn't have any effect on transmission health. Bigger tires for more load on the axles and transmission so they might come into play but I think torque capacity is strictly refering to
If these are the set colors then I am torn between white and Antimatter Blue. If they stick a green of some sort in B&P then hands down that is what I will get.
I think I will be right there with you, I wonder if we will smoke the clutch with a tune. On the VW GTI if you have the manual and do a tune you HAVE to install a better clutch. Curious what the Bronco clutch can take.
So I was reading another post;
If this rating is true that really concerns me, the 2.3 with a tune makes 370 Ft-lbs. I see broken transmissions in the future.
If I am looking at the correct info the 10-speed is rated for at least 650 Ft-lbs?
Can anyone expand upon this, because I was 100%...
It may have been a fluke or something too. It's been a while since I watched that. I've owned a few subarus and my close friend and family have owned a few dozen between them and compared to every other brand we've owned the subarus need constant work. Maybe not as bad as mercedes or land rover...
My coworker had a Nissan Altima I think and it broke and he couldn't find anywhere to work on it so it scrapped the car and bought something else.
Also I watched TFL off-road on youtube try to off-road a brand new Subaru Outback and it couldn't climb up hills. The trans freaked out and either...
There's a lot more than that that's wrong with CVT transmissions. Never met one yet that hasn't been absolute and utter garbage, and when they fail they're extremely expensive to fix if you can even find a transmission shop that wants to touch them.
For me I watched some of Ford's videos where they had pre production models out on the rocks, the 4-door scraped the frame or rock rails on everything. I get that jeep guys and Land Cruiser guys have been doing it for a long time, but I am single, no kids, no dogs, and I would rather have the...
I drove a Ranger yesterday and while I was an idiot and couldn't figure out how to get into sport, I was very impressed with the engines power. I feel like it will be plenty for the Bronco and with the Ford Performance tune it'll be even sweeter. The truck basically seemed to jump off the line...
I think this is the correct attitude to have, people are talking about power like they're expecting the Bronco to be a sports car. Think about its roots and what it's actually designed to do. Hell, with the 2.3 being plenty and the 2.7 being pretty powerful I don't even see why anyone's...
I'm thinking that either the aftermarket or I myself will make a rear seat delete, in the photos I've seen the seats folded flat don't make a flat floor and I'm guessing physically removing the seats will leave a low spot. I figure on something that bolts in in place of the rear seat that...
I realize that I was merely replying to the fellow who wondered if the 2.3 would have enough power, I'm strictly talking about the 2.3 so that you can have a manual, If it's not enough power you can make it have as much power as a stock 2.7. If you want even more though yes the 2.7 would make more
I watched another youtube video on a tuned Ranger with 2.3, obviously has a 10-speed but it was enough power to drop 2 seconds off the 0-60.
I personally drive a 2016 VW GTI, 2.0 turbo with a dual clutch. Mine is tuned to make 27Lbs of boost, 290-300HP and 330 ish Lb-ft. There is really no lag...
I saw the S but when I tried to pull the shifter down to it nothing happened. Felt like it was up against a wall/at the end of the shift pattern.
I just watched a YouTube video where they explained that a Ranger in sport the +/- button actually switches from highest gear lockout to actually...
That's true, I owned a 2.7 F150 for a short while and it hauled butt that's for sure. I forget what gear ratio it had but the Bronco will have in the mid to high 4's vs the mid to high 3's as in a F150 or Mustang. I'll have to look up the rear end ratio for a Ranger and combine with the first...
I think I need to drive another Ranger. The one I drove didn't seem to have sport mode. Or I couldn't figure out how to get into it. I'm still leaning more towards a manual though. Just seems right for the Bronco.
