For me, I like the open doors off feel, but my wife won't ride with doors off. It's a little disconcerting for some, and having some feeling that you are locked into the vehicle can help.

No, never heard of them. I'd verify pricing on CarMax and Carvana. Those at least are usually pretty solid, maybe best case, for pricing. One thing to note, when you use your trade in on a purchase, there can be tax advantages depending on your state.

Why should allocations be fixed by historical volume though? Shouldn't allocations come from places where people want to buy the damn things? It's currently a system put in place to keep the small dealers small. This doesn't serve customers. Competition from smaller dealers serves customers.

Yes. The only vehicles in my plans were the Bronco, Gladiator, or the Wrangler for the removable top. I've had a CJ and a YJ as well as some convertibles for that reason in the past.
