@OddBall88 We have somewhat similar builds going on except you have two extra doors. My KBD’s are in the mail. Are you running spacers with the stock Sasquatch wheels?
For hard shackles Factor 55 sells Crosby. Or go to a local rigging supply and they likely have Crosby or a couple other brands that are properly rated with a tracked quality system. Crosby shackles are properly rated for overhead lift. I agree about avoiding the Amazon specials…
Here is my bronco getting smacked when a guys Rhino USA hitch shackle failed on a kinetic rope pull. Not a hard pull, newish shackle with two other pulls on it. My side had a soft shackle to the factory point. It was at an event so staff checked the hook up before the pull (you can see them in...
Smashed my first grill with a kinetic rope when a guys hard shackle broke. Zip tied it back together and rode with it for about six months. Finally changed it out so I cut off the outside standoffs and mounted to the wall. Decently expensive piece of art.
There are definitely limitations with IFS in rock crawling. I don’t see many stock Jeeps doing it either. You have to set it up for what you want to do.
Mine did Crawl daddy at Rousch creek and two trips to windrock just fine as a stock Badsquatch. A But we will be going up from here.
but what truly is the likelihood that water could get past the airbox through the turbo through the intercooler and up maybe 24 inches to the intake?
I do wonder if it’s more likely to just snuff the engine out like here. Then it can be restarted. Hopefully with continue driving it would dry...
This is actually a very good point that I haven’t thought about. How susceptible are turbo engines to Hydrolocking? As you said in order to get into the cylinder it needs to get into the intake, through the turbo, through the intercooler and back up what is essentially a giant P-trap in order to...
Or… And hear me out… crazy idea… You could get one of the other brands that designed for the constraints… and tested their product on maybe multiple vehicles…
So I just got the "fix" to reposition. Could it be done in the driveway? yes. Do you almost have to remove everything in order to do it? also yes.
Come on, I didn't have time to install these so I paid quite a decent amount to get it done at a shop. Now you want us to completely disassemble...
