If only all dealers were this transparent, bravo. I’ve already ordered my JL Rubicon from another small-town, high volume dealer or I’d order from you guys in a heartbeat.
If I decide on a Bronco down the road (maybe 2025 or so) I’m coming to you guys
I stick with hard top, primarily for aesthetics, but also because if I'm going on a trip, I need roof space for surfboards, etc. trying to use soft top racks is a pain and not doable on long trips.
Hard top/bikini top with MGV, best of both worlds.
Yeah, so......I did this (and I'm about to cancel anyways and order a JL), but anyways, I ran it and it had my entire configuration...........with the wrong color. Not scheduled for production, but still.......that's a bit disheartening, I literally have a build from them with the right color.
I ordered through Walterboro Ford as well, and they have been pretty helpful. Although......I've asked for an update as mine is still sitting at "Ordering with Dealer" even though I have an order from them. No update in about a month now.
I'm with you there. Honestly, it's been like 10 years since my JK was younger and I lived in the NC mountains that I did a ton of that level of 4x4 anyways. Looking forward to making some trips and getting back to it once the JLR arrives. Still following/like the Bronco.....who knows might be a...
Ordered JLU Rubicon, Gupton Motors, 8% below invoice, roughly $42k OTD (with SC taxes, ha). Manual, hard top, safety group (wife), I still really like the Bronco, but my JK has been so rock solid and with the JLU I don't have to worry about the hard top (which is much improved from the JK by...
In that case, umm......definitely MGV, probably the Black Diamond Sasquatch once it's available in manual and 2.7, you are talking mostly water crossings, dirt, mud in rainy season. I'm sure a snorkel will be available through Ford soon or definitely aftermarket.
Ditto, I mean I've had this JK for 15 years (bought October '06), only new car I've ever bought. I'm leaning towards the JLU Rubicon, test drove it this weekend, here are a few more observations:
- Manual: I like the JL better than the 2.3L Manual Bronco, just felt smoother, a bit more power...
Yeah, I've been to CR a lot and have a friend that lives there (Dominical). Find a Toyota Hilux or something cheaper, low tech, I would not take a Bronco there.
I'll say this - I have only had 3 vehicles - '89 XJ (manual), '93 Toyota Pickup (manual), '07 JKU (automatic) - my wife talked me into it at the time. I really miss having a manual, it's just more enjoyable and.........with distractions everywhere in normal everyday traffic, it's nice to have...
There or Florida, best friend lives in Florida so he can pick me up from airport, easy flight to Orlando, go hit some trails, maybe surf/kite on the way back home. If it's TN, I'll go hit some mountain trails.
Yeah, I have it in writing, I sent my friend to this dealer before, it would be similar to Granger on here. Small town dealer with high volume output. I don't actually care about the high package, I was actually going with Standard package. The Sasquatch is a nice package, but a manual is a...
Ordering, I'm fine with waiting for either until the end of the year.........it's stretching into next winter that may become an issue. Honestly, either could become an issue sooner than later. I don't trust the JK on a trip and I'd like to make some this winter, also have older parents I need...
Just gotta go with a high volume dealer, that and I don't need anything really beyond a hard top. So, MSRP on a hard top Rubicon (you have to add remote prox apparently) is roughly $48k. Also helps that sales tax in SC on a vehicle is capped at $500 (they get it back on yearly property tax).
Agreed, changed title. Let me rephrase - not sure which I want.
Jeep Pros (for me):
No concerns with Hard Top
Available
Great Residual
Tested, great aftermarket
Price - 10% less right now for me.
Bronco Pros (for me):
Different (I've had a '07 JK for 15 years)
Better on-road, I think that's...
