I waited 2 years for my Bronco to arrive. During that time I was on this forum, reading some of the issues that current owners were experiencing. Plus this being a "version 1" of a new model. That was enough to make me decide on getting the extended warranty. Granger had/has the $50 over...
2.3 Manual. I feel the clunk when releasing the brake pedal quickly, like the pedal hit's a 'stop' on it's way up. Nothing when releasing the brake pedal slowly.
I actually don't recall when I started hearing the sound, only started listening when I found these threads. Looking at the spreadsheet someone posted here, I recorded info at about 14,500 miles. I'm at 20k now.
So, if we leave as is and don't repair it, the grinding synchro rings will grind themselves down smooth. :ROFLMAO: :(
Warmer weather her in MN I don't hear the grinding now. 44 this morning and no grinding sound. Will have to wait until next winter now to have the dealer listen...
First was side steps, because I had to hop to get in. I can't remember exactly what I had prioritized on my list of mods, but bumper and ditch lights quickly moved to the top after I hit a deer one night.
Ordered 2 Bronco's. First one came a year earlier than expected. Nice surprise, traded in my Bronco Sport for it. Second one also came a year earlier than expected. Had to turn it down at the dealer. Unfortunately can't afford both at this time.
My Bronco is 9 months old. 2-door manual, wired in pocket and ditch lights myself (knock on wood no fire hazard). Other than the transmission grumbling it's been great, going on 20k miles. Had one round trip MN-AZ, no issues. I did get the extended warranty though, peace of mind. Enjoy!!
Received the email today that it rolled off the assembly line. Cool to see the baby pic, since I didn't get one for my first Bronco. This one will be delivered to Granger, but unfortunately I can't keep it, can't afford two at this time. So I'm sure Granger will be offering it up for sale.
Same here. Smooth as butter from day one. The hard shifting just doesn’t seem right. Never heard of a “break-in period”. I’ve had manuals all my life, 3 brand new, and never experienced hard shifting. See the dealer.
Let's hope, hope it fixes the problem.
My dealer didn't even bother ordering. Said to come back when parts are available, then we'll take a listen to the sound. At least I have the extended warranty to get me to next winter. :ROFLMAO:
Now with the warmer weather here in MN, I don't hear the sound anymore. Now gotta wait until next winter to bring it in to Ford to do the listen check.
Picked up my BD 2.3L Manual 2-door August 2022. Daily driver mostly highway. During the warmer months I was pushing 20-22mpg. Winter months here in MN 17-19mpg. Looking forward to warmer months. Had one round trip MN-AZ last Oct averaged about 20mpg.
I do love driving it, rowing my own...
Love my 2-door manual, every day driver. To be honest I would not have bought a Bronco if there was only a 4-door. I'm not an off-roader so I probably would have went the sprinter camper van route.
