Surprising to see Ford dump 4A on the OBX. I feel like thatās the exact segment willing to spend the extra money for it.
I skipped 4A for my OBX and just optioned the rear locker for $795. Havenāt felt Iāve needed it once, but I know NJ winters arenāt comparable to the upper Midwest.
Stock wheels will support a 295/70R18 tire as the widest option and 285/75R18 as the tallest option. Your width is mostly limited by the 7.5" wheel and the manufacturer approved sizing. You'd probably need a slight lift to accommodate either. Plenty of pics on here and videos on youtube show how...
I experienced the same problems as you. If the Bronco sits for a week or more youāre really rolling the dice pressing that start button.
I feel like itās some combination of an undersized charging system and the constant drain of the connected vehicle BS that make it so unreliable.
Itās worth...
Spot on. I think tire manufacturers are in a pinch based on market demand.
Everyone wants the most "aggressive" looking tire but wants grand touring levels of performance on the highway. Trying to thread the needle with the right tread and sidewall pattern is the name of the game. Whoever...
Glad someone from out of state has something nice to say!
Very cool video, I agree the east coast has a ton of natural beauty to offer. Maybe we shouldn't overshare and keep the tourists going to Utah.
I think the factory wheels are under appreciated too, it was always the tires that turned me off. I swapped to 275/65 Toyo AT3s on delivery. Kept the speedo in tact which was nice.
That was a pretty interesting read! Spending time on the beach, I always thought wider = better. It looks like 80% of the contact patch gain when airing down is longways and not due to width. Sticking to a 285 tire might be a good long term fit for me.
This exact scenario stalled my bronco in an intersection on Thursday. I always turn off ASS as soon as I get in the vehicle but forgot. Just feathering the brake must have been enough to trip up the system.
So Iām sitting there stalled in an intersection and my dash is flashing āSHIFT VEHICLE...
I went with tire upgrade only on my OBX. Chose Toyo AT3's - they perform and look great.
When my warranty is up (and the Bronco is paid) I'll probably pick up a set of Ford Performance Wheels and do the whole 35x12.5 thing. Just remember you'll have to buy the fenders and lift accordingly...
Pay em. The ask is high because our dollar doesnāt get you anything. Iād rather Ford court the high quality labor force and at least justify these MSRP increases.
I think for many, being able to roll up a 6-7k package into financing is more attractive than spending 2k out of pocket after delivery. God bless America š
OP, I got my OBX without sas and love it. I did throw a set of Toyos on from day 1 though which has made a huge difference.
