  1. Kicker Key 200.4 Done Correctly

Ok. Do you have just tweeters in dash or do you mean the tweets on coaxials? Try turning off the dip switch for kicker EQ first. I believe it adds some highs and that may be your offending harshness. You may also want to DSP train with it off if that doesn’t remove enough highs. HU eqshould...
  2. Kicker Key 200.4 Done Correctly

I have Alpine coax in the dash. Memphis midbass in the kick. No outboard crossovers, the coax has a bass cap but it doesn’t factor. They clearly don’t understand how bi-amp works. Make sure you listen to a lot of reference material before. Then critical listen after. You will be able to...
  3. Kicker Key 200.4 Done Correctly

Very nice!!! The Key 200 and 500 should both use dedicated fused power direct to the battery. And use the remote send from the 200 to tell the 500 when to turn on/off. Auto detect on the 500 was not good for me. Wired to the 200 is great.
  4. Kicker Key 200.4 Done Correctly

Haven’t seen one yet. Current producers of “plug and play” harnesses for the kicker seem indifferent to the fact they are running the amps out of spec. The posts about failed Key 200s on the internet are easily attributable to the 2 ohm load they inflict on the amp. Their janky config works...
  5. Kicker Key 200.4 Done Correctly

Great write up, Bro! Be sure to grab all the diagrams too.
  6. Kicker Key 200.4 Done Correctly

That said, your coax in the kicks are not ideal. You are not going to use the tweeter at all in the configuration. It won’t hurt anything. Just don’t expect to hear those tweeters at all. 640 down to 80 is a tight frequency range. But the bi-amp mode gets the best out of the dash and kick...
  7. Kicker Key 200.4 Done Correctly

Grok is not all knowing. Back to page 12. There are two ways to use bi-amp. the key auto detects and uses the correct crossover points. It will know you have dash coax and kickpanel mids. the issue of not using passive crossover isn’t about the bass cap filtering on your coaxial tweeter. It...
  8. Kicker Key 200.4 Done Correctly

you should probably find a new shop. The people you’re talking to are too fucking stupid to do car audio well. If you choose to stay with them, tell them RTFM page 9 and page 12. The amp will use internal crossovers to send the front channels 320 hz and up. Perfect for our little midranges...
  9. [How-To] Subwoofer Upgrade - Replacing/Upgrading the Factory Sub

I have no idea what any of that means!! I’m a simple guy who just misses the soft burble of a 351 or a 289. I accept my quiet little 4 banger. Don’t mean I like!
  10. [How-To] Subwoofer Upgrade - Replacing/Upgrading the Factory Sub

Oh! lol. Well it blasted my cabin overpowering music so it had to go. lol. But the world still hears a buzzy 4-banger. I cannot suspend my disbelief. :)
  11. [How-To] Subwoofer Upgrade - Replacing/Upgrading the Factory Sub

Never bought into? It’s absolutely fact. You turn it off with forscan. It comes through kick panel the most. After I upgraded my amp it absolutely was intolerable. the 500.1 is a good upgrade for the money. Run a new power wire with fuse and a remote wire.
  12. Kicker Key 200.4 Done Correctly

these just help separate the front wave from rear. Presses flush to the plastic trim piece. Not required but seems to help.
  13. Kicker Key 200.4 Done Correctly

That is great to hear! Glad you are loving it! It’s truly the best budget setup that exists for this system. Thanks for telling me!!!
  14. New Bronco variant or special edition to debut at 2026 Detroit Auto Show (Jan 14-25) .... any guesses what Ford has up their sleeve?

any engine taking boost is working harder under higher pressure. They also drive differently. A V8 has a better feel overall. Complexity of parts is higher and those failures on turbos are exactly my point. Plenty of examples of failed ecoboosts out there. I’d much rather have a V8. If...
  15. New Bronco variant or special edition to debut at 2026 Detroit Auto Show (Jan 14-25) .... any guesses what Ford has up their sleeve?

are you high? The bigger engine works less with less boost. Wear in tear will automatically be lower. There’s some design efficiency differences between modern engines, but… as a matter of fact, displacement is everything. And boosting is artificial displacement.
  16. New Bronco variant or special edition to debut at 2026 Detroit Auto Show (Jan 14-25) .... any guesses what Ford has up their sleeve?

Tell me don’t understand that a twin turbo forced induction engine is under more stress than a larger naturally aspirated engine without telling me. I didn’t say a thing about which has more power. I prefer a V8 for sound, longevity, and btw…. Can still add turbo/supercharger and beat that...
  17. New Bronco variant or special edition to debut at 2026 Detroit Auto Show (Jan 14-25) .... any guesses what Ford has up their sleeve?

id rather have a v8 hardly working than a v6 twin turbo working hard. Better longevity and just a more enjoyable driving experience.
