Seeing how flakey the backdoor link has been lately I'm not sure if it's any reliable indicator as to exactly when it happened, but I went from nothing yesterday evening to showing scheduled for Week of 4/4/2022 this morning.
Now that I have my comm knocked out I put some multi time in the logbook, got myself check ride ready, and then discovered that very few DPEs down here will do multi rides (usual examiner is taking a break from scheduling anyone for a while).
Hopefully BFG is on it with getting their QC act together, but I'd imagine it's a rough time in the tire world to do such a thing.
Actually what I really hope is that Falken makes an AT3W that's not E-load and 73+ lbs, but I'm not holding my breath on that one. Such a great tire, but I'm not...
I'm really looking forward to these. I was planning on following the other DIY squatch flaps, but as it's $100 for the Ford ones that I have to take a hobby knife to and fab my own bracket to secure it to the fender flare versus $150 for something with a slick single-point bracket, I'll take...
That's a damn shame to hear about the K02, since it has been the universal answer to the "what's a civil but competent AT tire" question for pretty much every other vehicle, that's also properly light and C-load to boot in 315/70r17 flavor. Guess it's pretty much down to Toyo and their C-load...
Doubt you'll get much feedback for the Legend EXP seeing how 'new' this model is, but you can look at reviews of the Dick Cepek Trail Country EXP for general feedback since it is substantially the same tire that Mickey Thompson now gets to sell after the buyout.
Do wish they would make a C-load...
I don't love the look (I'm not much of a wrap/decal fan period), but if it cuts down on glare on my westbound commute in the evenings I'll probably leave it be.
Maybe I'm not thinking of the right ones, but the GT2RS add-on flares to scratch the legal tire-coverage itch certainly do look added-on after the fact, but an order of magnitude less blatant.
Relatively simple, follows the outline of the wheel well, no complex curvatures with multiple radii...
Man, that rear 3/4 view is... rough.
Really is a shame the choice they made with those fenders, for a vehicle that otherwise looks so damn good with 37s pushed out on the corners.
I was warned that while they think it will be sooner, I had the potential to be stuck waiting till 2023 from Doggett with my late res/order. Nothing on how long the 'line' is or how many allocations they're getting every month.
