So, my Bronco's 1 year anniversary was this week, I've off-roaded it quite a bit in the last year, I figured it was a good time to do a quick off-roading review and talk about the things I've already upgraded and things I plan on adding in the next year.
First things first, the Badlands...
Our off-road club just did a trip down to Hot Springs last weekend. Did all 3 badge trails. FunRun was my favorite. Rubicon Ridge was good too. It was a 3, no real issues (Badlands Sas). I did a few 4s as well, never had to pull the winch. I really need to replace these stock SAS tires...
It's not just anyone with a B-Raptor, it's non-reservation holders that spend who knows what on a B-Raptor.
Plus his signature is way over the top. Ya, you have 47 vehicles that any upper middle-class person could only afford one of. Congrats, you're stupid rich, you don't have to tell the world.
Collecting, sure I kinda get, actually listening to them, a bit masochistic, but more power to you. I shutter to think how painful it was to find tracks.... "Oh, I think that song is next, [FF], nope, maybe it's next, [FF], nope. Damnit, [STOP, pull the cassette out to look] dang it was side...
But why? I mean I am JUST old enough to have owned a Walkman but still, WHY? Vinyl make sense because of how it sounds. CDs make sense because of the quality of the sound file. But there is NO reason to be a tape nerd (other than nostalgia) but it's a pain in the ass re-winding, and flipping...
This exactly. Just ease off the brake a tiny little bit before the light starts to turn and the engine is running again. It's a great feature. I personally think it should be more aggressive, like when I'm in a drive through, it will shut down the first time I stop but it won't keep shutting...
Lockers and the M190 and larger tires, you're gonna run into issue pretty darn quick. If you're absolutely refusing to trade up and you're gonna dump that kind of money (re-gearing and adding lockers), I would strongly suggest full replacement axles.
Ultimate Dana 44™ AdvanTEK® Front-Drive...
That was true until 2021...
I mean if we wanna look at things that weren't there originally: EBs didn't even have power steering from 66-72 and it was optional from 72-77. No power brake option until 76-77. So really a TRUE Bronco doesn't have power steering or power brakes, or shoulder...
Also running fog lights is actually counter-productive when trying to avoid hitting a deer. Yes, they do give you a little wider light spread over using just the low beams but it's not useful (and actually distracting) because of how much they point down. So the problem is it makes you look in...
I'm not sure what everyone is comparing their high beams to... I don't think they're any better or worse than the 2016 Explorer we had or the 2011 F150 (with aftermarket LEDs). They're about 1000 time better than my wife's beater car (06 Impala), you really can't see shit, same with my tow rig...
Ya and you know they're not going to just go for a test drive, they're gonna run the hell out of it. Doing full throttle pulls on a dyno so that they can get their numbers. Most B-Raptors won't even be out of their break-in phase.
So, I wanna get this straight, you're asking someone to give up their B-Raptor for almost a month so that you can R&D a product that you will profit on for years and all they get is an exhaust that barely covers what the car payment would be for a $75,000 vehicle? Man, what a deal...
Well if we want to get super technical it's an aluminum stamping (that was created from an aluminum sheet).
Wasn't really trying to flat out correct you, just wanted to add that it isn't a normal steel fender to emphasize my point that it's not gonna take a hit.
