@k5beason - did you find you needed to grind off the small circle trim from behind the rear trim panel that used to align to the factory round subwoofer ? I cut mine down with a dremel as I felt it was very close to the rubber on the Kicker L7T. I installed my GearShade with the new B&O mount...
I know this thread is a long running one, but for those interested in another option for replacing the factory subwoofer, I am adding the link to see my recent addition of the newly designed GearShade subwoofer box that can accommodate the B&O Amplifier. The L7T8 subwoofer is phenomenal...
Added weatherstripping from my local AutoZone all around the ring of the L7T subwoofer to prevent any rubbing of the panel to the sub. Also went back and trimmed off the inner circle plastic on the rear panel that was designed to touch the foam on the factory subwoofer. Used a Dremmel cutting...
I used the Stinger Bronco amp wiring kit 8 gauge on my 2 Dr and had plenty to mount my Kicker Key 500 on top of the new Gearshade 2Dr box with the square L7T subwoofer - https://a.co/d/8I9gwlQ. It comes with the nice fender mount to mount the fuse and all the ends have quality ferrules. Well...
Here is where I mounted the Kicker Bass Knob - nice and easy to adjust and if you ever need to remove it, no one will ever see the screw holes. Run the wire right up the steering column and feed it through the square hole. So easy to adjust bass now. Also - I’m running the bass setting on the...
@brkdncr - In order to get the signal before it hits the factory B&O Amp/DSP, I would highly recommend buying the B&O harness - 2018 - 2023 FORD WITH B&O PREMIUM SOUND PLUG & PLAY HARNESS KITS – Plug N Play Kits Kit #10
If you dont have the amp yet, you can get it through PlugnPlay as well -...
@brkdncr - I’ll test it out and let you know. Haven’t noticed any new sounds or texts being unusual but must admit, not paying that close attention. Will report back if I find anything. The biggest thing I notice is no more of that horrible sound from the stock B&O subwoofer bottoming out on any...
@Spiderwolf - The B&O amp is fine to keep and swap out the other factory speakers. You can get lost in this forum with countless speaker upgrade threads. Keep it simple for yourself and order the Hertz DCX 100.3 speakers to replace the 2 front corners and the 2 in the pods out back. You will...
@GearShade worked with me on this new version as he went through a few prototypes to get this right. I think this new option with the area to mount the B&O could be leveraged for some other amp applications as having the new indent for the B&O amp is an advantage. This new B&O box style is...
One other quick idea that requires 5 mins is body push pins. I got a whole set with my trim removal kit from Amazon - was like $23 bucks. It came with 10 different sizes of body push pins. Fortunately they fit the 2 different size holes.
I have the new Gearshade 2Dr sub box with the redesign to mount the B&O amp on the front. Got it dialed in pretty well, but would love to see screen shots of other members Key 500 settings. I ran the Key set up and felt the gain was quite low. Right now I’m running with the Key settings turned...
does the 8 inch round Kicker pound in the box ? Did you have the factory subwoofer before or just the base system ? I’m really looking forward to having quality bass in the Bronco. The B&O factory sub is just very boomy and bottoms out a lot over volumes of 15
I just took delivery of Gearshade’s newest 2 Dr subwoofer box designed for keeping the B&O factory amp and the Kicker L7T-8. Waiting on my amp and wiring kit but will report back after install.
@Brsox - would love to see some pictures from inside how to use the blocks with the mod top. I am on the fence between this lift you got or bite the bullet and do the garage ceiling lift
