@silentd74 - What was the RMS rating on your sub ? I see several posts where people seem to be using the Kicker Key 500.1 on the tailgate subwoofers which are rates at 400 RMS. I am looking at the MTI Acoustic with the JL10TW3-D4 as a possible option. I like the idea of the 500 as its small...
OK so sounds like face-mounting is off the table. Now the bigger question to determine is 2 things - if someone that bought one from you can confirm: Is there: 1.) Enough slack in the B&O harness to allow the amp to reach the top and 2.) Can the B&O fit in that location where you are currently...
@GearShade - that's the challenge with the B&O owners that I would love to solve -if you are just adding the GearShare box and leaving the rest of the B&O system alone (maybe swapping some better speakers) this is going to be a challenge as you need to keep the B&O Amp in the car for the other...
@21Area51BaDsas - How did the GearShade sub box work out for you ? Did you have the factory sub in before you replaced it with this ? Also looking to know overall impression, amp you used and how's the rattle been ?
@Copperhorse73 - did you upgrade from the B&O where you already had a subwoofer ? I have the 23 B&O now - trying to decide if Gearhouse with the square Kicker or just go straight to a tailgate option. The B&O factory sub is just sloppy anything about volume 15.
@Copperhorse73 - how do you like that Gearshade sub box ? Did you go square or round ? Interested in opinion on sound and how much new rattle you may have gotten
Sorry Glenn about you loss - dogs are family. Great to see you made some nice memories and snapped some amazing pictures to capture your journey. Thanks for sharing.
@ostmen - did you end up adding the Stinger tailgate sub ? Do you currently have the factory B&O with an upgraded sub in the box ? Also what amp did you use ?
@silentd74
Did you end up leaving leaving the factory B&O sub connected ? I'm curious to how it would do if you left the factory bass setting at flat/middle and added a 10 or 12 inch tailgate sub with the Key 500 amp - the B&O sub in the 2023 seems to behave if you dont jack the bass too far...
Thanks all for the great feedback @RagnarKon , @mpeugeot, @Brian_B - glad to have an awesome group of knowledgeable people in this forum. Going to move ahead with the external amp and subwoofer option after evaluating many options.
@RagnarKon - related topic but slightly different. On the 2023 B&O package, its clear Ford updated the B&O sub amplifier - I havent seen any data that provides specs. I have seen that its been posted the stock B&O subwoofer is a 2x2 ohms (110 watt) small sub that is run with 2 separate sets of...
@mandark - from one of the other threads - Metra 72-6514 Speaker Harness for Select Chrysler/Dodge Vehicles (known to work with the subwoofer swap but the polarity is reversed)
I suppose you could run longer leads from these to an Amp, but I understand these connect to the factory B&O...
