  1. 2 Door FrankenRanger Mule spotted

I think the bigger issue is the placement of the wipers. I will only buy a Bronco with top-mounted vacuum-actuated wipers.
  2. ⊙⊙ How Big Do You Like Them? ⊙⊙

33” will work while the vehicle is new and under warranty. Hopefully 35s will fit with just a budget boost type lift or just some minor trimming. I’d like 37s or maybe larger down the road as long a huge lift isn’t required.

I’m one of those SFA Neanderthals, but I believe the Bronco will be a huge success in the short term (less than 10 years). The removable top and doors, good engines, good road manners, mild off road ability, and 25 years of pent-up demand will fit right into our booming economy and relatively...
  4. Spy Video, Underbody / Suspension and Interior Closeups of 2021 Bronco Prototype!

How is it irrelevant? Pickups are mostly used on pavement, even more so than Jeeps. If the masses are satisfied with a rougher riding solid axle when there is an IFS alternative, with a more reputable power plant, then why wouldn’t the same thing apply to the Bronco and Wrangler? Maybe the...
  5. Spy Video, Underbody / Suspension and Interior Closeups of 2021 Bronco Prototype!

I don’t want a rebadged Jeep. I want a 2021 version of my 1968 Ford Bronco. You know the vehicle that is all over commercials and movie screens? The vehicle that is in such high demand that Ford has decided to resurrect it. I want the new Bronco to be better than Jeep in the same ways it was...
  6. Spy Video, Underbody / Suspension and Interior Closeups of 2021 Bronco Prototype!

All the SFA haters have me wondering... How is it that the Super Duty with its archaic front axle, that almost never sees the rocks, is able to outsell the GM HDs by such a large margin? Especially with the Dmax/Allison having such a better reputation than the Powerstroke.
  7. Spy Video, Underbody / Suspension and Interior Closeups of 2021 Bronco Prototype!

Anybody that lives where there is snow or mud benefits from the ability to lock the diffs. Sure an IFS rig can be fully locked but it will never be as reliable as having two stick axles, especially when you start modding a vehicle. 99% of my use won’t require the articulation of a SFA, but I...
  8. First (Actual) 2021 Bronco U725 Prototype SPIED!!

That looks great. I was having a hard time visualizing a good looking Bronco under the camo until now.
  9. The IFS vs SFA Thread

Haha. Apparently you’ve never looked under a pre-05 super duty.
  10. The IFS vs SFA Thread

    Don’t know. Both of mine were/are coil. 05 & 15.
  11. The IFS vs SFA Thread

Lots of super duty guys report the same issue. I’ve never experienced it though on my early bronco, F350, or F450.
  12. The IFS vs SFA Thread

Maybe if you’d stop calling SFA proponents “crazy extreme rock crawlers” who want to drive over “boulders”, maybe we’d quit referring to you IFS guys as mall crawling posers. Most of my off road use will be hunting on rutted out forest service roads with mud and snow and the occasional Moab...
  13. With some design elements now known... Are you buying the Bronco?

Actually it is a big deal and way more costly than $50 if you replace all the components that are damaged. When vacuum is partially lost the 4x4 actuators rub on the splines of the hub destroying the actuators and the wheel bearing assembly. About $250 per side. If you catch the check valve...
  14. The IFS vs SFA Thread

Every Raptor I’ve looked at has been ordered with the 802A package which includes the Torsen. Dealers have limited allocation so they tend to get every option in order to maximize profit.
  15. The IFS vs SFA Thread

You use four wheel drive on the street?
  16. The IFS vs SFA Thread

IF the Bronco has all those things it’ll potentially tie the Wrangler. Unless they throw in a winch or an air compressor it won’t beat it. I wouldn’t give the Bronco any points for Ford’s off-road drive modes.
  17. The IFS vs SFA Thread

How does the Bronco outscore the Wrangler in off-road tech? How does it get better than F/R selectable lockers, disconnecting sway bars, and a 4:1 transfer case?
  18. The IFS vs SFA Thread

I wish Ford would’ve approached the whole Bronco Sport/BroncoBronco thing differently. They could’ve put a similar body on both with different drivetrains. IFS/IRS and a four banger eb for the removable top beach cruiser type and solid axles/v8 for the enthusiast. It seems like there is zero...
  19. The IFS vs SFA Thread

I disagree there. I want the longer wheelbase of the 4 door for Moab type stuff. Even if I wasn’t into Moab, the Rubicon, and other similarly difficult stuff, I would still want solid axles. Ford has proven to me that their Raptor grade IFS components cannot be trusted even on moderate roads...
  20. I feel like this is a lot of us right now

    My guess: 90%= don’t care 5%=SFA only 1%=ifs only 2%=prefer SFA 2%=prefer ifs
