It seems to be somewhat hit or miss--there have been some here who had no issues with the studs, but mine also wept. I did not try "wiggling" the pan to see if it was an alignment issue, but replacing them with the "regular" bolts was easier.
Using the regular bolts will only be an issue if the...
The latest UOA results are listed on the first page of the Google Sheet. Fuel dilution is at 4.8%, and since I did zero remote starts and had a 2,000-mile road trip on this run, I will be taking it into the dealer soon to be checked out. There appears to be an issue with the fuel system (likely...
Sounds like the tire for me. BFG KOx tires are typically the quietest AT tire on the market, but that is all they do well. If the M/T ATs are only slightly louder than KO2's, then they would be dramatically quieter than the GY Territory MT's I am currently running.
Were these the OEM bolts or the ones that came with the FP cover? I thought one was class 8.8 and the other was class 10.9
I upgraded mine to a longer class 10.9 (grade 8 equivalent) because I wanted more thread engagement.
Anyone run both of these? The OEM Territory tires have been good, but they are getting louder and louder as they wear with that typical "wa-wa-wa" mud grip sound on the highway that is a PITA on a long trip.
I have read the Duratracs also get louder as they wear, but was not sure how loud...
25 newton meters maximum, not pound-feet @Vcastag.
I would go 15NM, then 20NM, and then 22NM. If no leaks stop there. If there are go to 25NM.
You will almost certainly twist off a bolt with 25 lb-ft.
Here is a torque guide I created:
M1 ESP has quite a bit of ester in it...I would opine more than PUP.
@crenca - I forgot to tell you why I believe that M1 ESP has high esters (on my phone when I posted). Ester content typically shows as high oxidation numbers in a virgin oil sample. M1 ESP has a rating of about 35, which...
Using (as an example), two quarts of Mobil 1 5W-30 and four quarts Mobil 1 0W-40, you end up on the exact limit line for both of them (12.5 cSt) theoretically creating either a thick 0W-30 or a thin 0W-40. The "5" number would not come into play given the low concentration, it may be a 2W-xx...
Agreed; the caveat is that Ford does not sell the clips separately. You must purchase the entire brake line to obtain them. I defaulted to my solution because it is much more durable.
Be sure that you understand what the 0 or 5 in xW-xx oils mean. The number to the left of the W (which stands for Winter and not Weight as commonly misunderstood and misstated) indicates cold weather performance and not what viscosity it is at operating temperature. The number to the right of...
xW-40 should hold viscosity just fine--your engine is not suffering from fuel dilution with only 1.5% (provided they are using gas chromatography for the testing) so that is not what is contributing to your viscosity reduction.
You may not need an oil that thick though to remain in the xW-30...
