  1. Broken front axle at CV joint on my Bronco Badlands 4-Door 2.7L

I really believe this was a defective part. Tires on dirt can slip easily. However, going forward as people start to really wheel their Broncos, and put bigger tires, and put bigger tires on the M190 front end, there are going to be lots of broken front axle shafts. Virtually no one with a...
  2. Broken front axle at CV joint on my Bronco Badlands 4-Door 2.7L

I have seen brand new CV axles break due to no lube. Just a manufacturing mistake. Rare, but can happen.
  3. What about 18 inch wheels with 35s?

Did I understand correctly? Are you thinking you'd gain an inch going to 35's with an 18" wheel? Maybe I misunderstood. The tire size is 35" regardless of the wheel size. Personally. I wouldn't recommend an 18 over a 17 because when you air down you want some sidewall flex to flatten the tread...
  4. Portable Air Compressors - Tire Fill Times

I have that ARB compressor, but it's hard mounted on my buggy. I also have the Smittybuilt portable in the Jeep. Both work fine. Duty cycle is more important than fill time. A few minutes here or there filling up the tires isn't much of a deal. I'd recommend balancing price and duty cycle, and...
  5. All Bronco Off-Roadeo Locations Now Open For Reservations

Hope so, I'll have to drive my motorhome out there. Looks like a short dirt road off the highway.
  6. All Bronco Off-Roadeo Locations Now Open For Reservations

I'm booked for Las Vegas Sept 19. Works out perfectly since I'm driving through anyway on the way to Sand Hollow Sept 20. I'm assuming I can drive to the place in my motorhome.
  7. Broken front axle at CV joint on my Bronco Badlands 4-Door 2.7L

Sorry....shouldn't have broken doing what he was doing. My point is that it must be a defective part. Responding the posts about him abusing it, which he was not. Of course, and part can be defective.
  8. Broken front axle at CV joint on my Bronco Badlands 4-Door 2.7L

We can always do something to bind an axle and break it, but it will be quite a bit more than gassing it on flat dirt. Imagine being on a rock trail with both lockers locked, turning on the hard surface and going up ledges and over boulders. There is binding between the tires and axles all the...
  9. Broken front axle at CV joint on my Bronco Badlands 4-Door 2.7L

Still shouldn't break. If you can go on rocks with both axles locked, which it is designed to do, then you should be able to do donuts on dirt all day long. I've seen new cv axles go bad, and I've seen new cv axles that didn't have any lube in them. Hope this was just a defective part. BTW...
  10. Flat tow equipment needed to flat tow the 2021 Bronco?

Whi Which brings me back to getting the 2.3L and using the vacuum boost. Hmm..... I want the 2.7 because of port direct injection, but don't want any reliability issues with the twin turbos. I want the power of the 2.7 but don't want to mess with the electric brake booster. At least people...
  11. Flat tow equipment needed to flat tow the 2021 Bronco?

Thank you! Does not say anything about the braking in the tow section, or about towing in the brake section. Have to research that subject some more. Wonder how much battery power that electric brake booster would take while towing, and what might happen if the battery runs down. Stuff to check...
  12. BaseSquatch DELIVERED : 2 Door Base Sasquatch [UPDATE - NOW WITH MORE PICTURES & REVIEW]

I know this can be a popular place to mount lights. Personally, I prefer not having the glare across the hood from this type of mounting location. I'm much happier with the lights on the bumper. I only comment for comparison.
  13. Flat tow equipment needed to flat tow the 2021 Bronco?

That would be cool! I will definitely check that out. It would be good to be able to read the owners manual for a 2.7 equipped Bronco and see what it says about flat towing. More research time... Thanks!
  14. What are you driving until your Bronco arrives?

I flat tow and daily drive the yellow one, and the white one is for trail running. I'm currently on a two week wheeling trip to CA, UT, and CO and hauling the wht one in my enclosed trailer. If the 2022 Broncos come in yellow, I'll sell them both, otherwise I'll be tempted to keep the yellow...
  15. The articulation is there for the Bronco

I have a saying: New wheelers talk about high big a lift and how much flex. Experienced wheelers talk about how low can I keep it and stability. On the trail, I see a potential problem with the Bronco being much harder than the Jeeps to have a sway bar disconnect, which limits articulation...
  16. 2 Door BaseSquatch Delivered. Timeline, Q & A, Notes From First 100 miles

I ordered a baseSAS but was able to have my wife sit in one, and it's too tall. While I love the value of the baseSAS, I'm changing my order to a BL no-SAS. My trail Jeep now has 33's and lockers and it is tremendously capable. BTW, my Cherokee and the Bronco have the same wheelbase (within...
  17. Flat tow equipment needed to flat tow the 2021 Bronco?

I currently flat tow a Jeep Cherokee behind the motorhome. I use a Roadmaster tow bar and baseplate. I saw that Roadmaster is also looking for someone to let them use the Bronco to make the base plates. I plan to flat tow the Bronco. Since the coach has air brakes, I use an Air Force One system...
  18. Harbor Freight 12,000 lb Winch is WORTH the hype

Understand. If you need to go backwards, you most likely have someone behind you to pull you back. I wouldn't compare normal trail running with a guy who makes money on his YT channel by pulling unprepared people out of predicaments. Different world. ;) Like I said, I'm just sharing experience...
  19. Harbor Freight 12,000 lb Winch is WORTH the hype

I don't know anything about Apex winches. I do have experience with various Chinese mfg winches. When you need a winch, you really need a winch. Get a Warn. Best story I have about this: A guy in a 4dr JK rolled off the trail down into a ravine. They couldn't get him out, so left it. Called club...
  20. Harbor Freight 12,000 lb Winch is WORTH the hype

I can share some experience on this idea, and some opinions. There is no good place to keep a winch mounted on a receiver plate inside a vehicle. It's very heavy, and has to go on the floor. So, it's not convenient when you need to pull it out to use it. I was actually on a trip and one of the...
