Article says the landing was soft. No damage. That's what the position sensitive shocks do, internal bump zones. Plus, it's sand and on 35" tires. Not surprised it could do that.
Yes. If you wheel enough to need a bumper (and winch) this stout then you want to be able to turn and get your front tire on a rock or rut and the bumper extending to the end of the flare hinders this. Also, like you said, what about non-SAS flares or removing the flare? This bumper is too wide.
It
The extra GOAT modes don't mean anything if you have lockers front and rear. You can add floor and cargo liners, you can easily add bumpers (if you need them), you can easily add the rock rails, etc to the base SAS. You cannot easily (or cheaply) add the bigger front diff and axle, the rear...
Look in the order guide. It shows which packages and which options come with either one or two rear two points. I never saw that tow package had anything to do with it.
I'm selling my collectors edition Jeep Street Comanche (No 16 out of only 100 made), and my Jeep Cherokee trail rig. I was going to sell my rare Solar Yellow Cherokee, but I'm changing my mind.
If you want someplace that is fun to go to, with awesome scenery and spectacular views everywhere, go to Moab. Wheeling and exploring in Moab is special, and tons of fun. Of course, don't know where the Rodeo will be held there, I seriously doubt they will be running the named trails. However...
I think the original statement was referring to we don't know yet how strong the OEM CV's are. However, the RCV's are going to be stronger with a complete set. That page from RCV regarding the ultimate CV axle set for F150 didn't say if they are 300M or not, RCV makes both chromoly and 300M...
The TJ came with two rear axles, normal was a Dana 35 which was c-clip, and the Rubicon came with a D44, which is not c-clip. C-clip means the axle shaft is retained in the housing a c-clip at the end of the axle shaft, inside the carrier. Non c-clip, like a D44 or the M220 (since it's a...
Model 20 rear, just gotta keep that axle nut tight. :giggle:
I have not estimated the cost to duplicate what comes in the SAS package if done all aftermarket. Need to do that. Still need to know the specs on the M190 and M210.
My trail Jeep with 33's and locked, geared and trussed axles with...
Gotta keep that goat happy! 😁
From my experience, the transfer case mode should be chosen before going over or through whatever you're approaching. Same with the lockers, and although I do think they will engage while you're in something, it won't be immediate because things need to mesh...
This makes me wonder if the M190 has a disconnect/hubs and the M210 does not. Not clear enough, but this could be true. The M190 would be just like what's in the Ranger. In that list, all of the front locked axle have no disconnect, but some of them don't have the disconnect with a rear locker...
Well, I'm a yellow guy, and I want a yellow Bronco. Hopefully yellow will be a color choice for 2022. If not, is the CO enough yellow to satisfy a yellow guy? Like the OP every pic looks a little different. Thanks.
Wow! Nice pic. That's Two Step on Bald Mtn Trail. Drove that many times, also rolled off it once...in the dark. :ROFLMAO:
That old Jeep is still around, though I don't own it anymore. That XJ started a few trends that are popular now. Thanks for posting that pic.
As has been said, no restrictions in the owners manual. Should be the same as towing our Jeeps, with the t-case in neutral, no restrictions....other then common sense. My Bronco will get flat towed behind the motorhome, replacing the Jeep. I need the Roadmaster base plates.
I have seen wheels spin inside the tire when wheeling with very low air pressure. Much depends on the tire, some tires are just harder to unseat and grip the wheel better. Mud and rock grit can get into the bead, between the rim and tire and cause small leaks, which is much harder to do with a...
I think it would make better sense, both cost and equipment, to go with a baseSAS. You don't need the steel rear bumper probably, can buy the rock sliders for safety, and make your own decision on the skid plates. Comes with a gas tank skid, and you get front skid with the steel bumper, which is...
I have no idea. Has there been any info out regarding auto locking hubs? With IFS it isn't really needed, since the front driveline doesn't move, the diff is in a fixed location. Something to find out, anyone know? I also see upgraded drivelines in the Ford aux parts list. Sounds like Ford is...
Yep, that's me. Thanks for the kind words. I've been around the off road mountain plenty of times. Should I admit that I had a Jeep and was in the local 4x4 club in the late '60's?
Can you believe I'm selling the XJ and getting a Bronco? It's a new day.
I'm happy to share some...
