You can sort of feel the vibration & a slight tapping. Not sure if it is like that for everyone. Saw one today at a dealership with the sound and it wasn't as violent as mine. In that case you might not recognize it unless you had experience driving various manual transmissions. Some might be ok...

For me it's neutral, first and second.

Mine was almost undrivable. Wake the neighbors loud! You could almost feel the grinding. It made noise at all temperatures too.

Hopefully they're covering your rental. I had my bronco for 48 hours and now an Edge for over a month. The fact that Ford hasn't stopped the sale of the remaining manuals is maddening. When they offered you a buyback, did they also offer additional compensation?

Went to look at another manual Bronco at a dealership and it has the same problem. As for my vehicle, it's going on 5 weeks at the dealership with no end in site. Apparently production on new manual transmissions is "idle" at this time. No ETA going forward.

I remember reading articles like this for my TurboGrafx 16, Pebble, Windows phone and Zune lol. Worst case.... Strong Bronco sales continue and the company decides to make the manual transmission hiatus permanent. 🤢🤮 ;) Jk..jk..maybe. Lol That article said it wasn't a death...

I've had several Getrag manual transmissions and I wouldn't consider any of them to be loud. My 19 gt with 50k miles was one of the quietest manuals I had ever owned.

I wonder if the outgoing European Ranger Raptor manual trans could fit the Bronco.

Subaru cut my little sister a couple thousand for a similar problem with her manual Crosstrek. I think they also sent her some random wireless headphones and a extended warranty lol. Hopefully Ford would do something similar.

Broncos. You'd be surprised by how many high mileage examples there are in Autotrader. 131k is insane for a 2 year old car.

Hard to say. Hopefully they aren't the rx8 of this car generation lol. Surprisingly there are a lot of high mileage examples on Autotrader. The highest being 131,000 and another with 101,000. The highest stick shift was in the 60k range.

That's a unacceptably long time to have your car sitting at a dealership. Did they provide you with a rental for the duration of the repair? I hope they gave you a Ford keychain for your troubles lol. It sucks to hear all of these horror stories. My car has only been at the dealership for 10...

Why wouldn't you have wanted the whole transmission changed out? Is it better to just get the tsb done? I wonder if it's easier to get a new transmission than it is to get the individual parts for one.
