I‘m no help but went with an expensive JCR aluminum vanguard bumper because of light weight, cooling vents & hi lift slots….I have been happy with it but there are many more options now…tricky dick doesn’t sell his reinforcement anymore but it has done it’s thing on many occasions…good luck!
Ok that is correct but a different explanation (ride height vs max droop/compression)…as long as coilover stroke up/down remains constant…I will also go out a limb and say less than a 2” spacer lift on a bronco keeps the cv in the “safe“ (non binding) zone at full droop…party on!
Nice post and I totally agree with most all of it…except your statement “spring”/coilover lift “ Makes the body ride higher, but your pumpkin and suspension mounts are still going to be in the same place. No effect on axle angles.”
not only does to raise the body but also the frame and the...
I just got off (technically tomorrow) 3 weeks super light duty after a week long hospital stay so I installed the MtM flip down attic shelf I bought off their scratch and dent page (still expensive) because ya can’t have too much extra storage in a 2dr…it really does utilize some wasted space...
Sasquatch has the same control arms, ball joints, tie rods (unless ya get hoss 3 rack) as your non Sasquatch OBX…the driveline difference is the the front differential and axles on the Sasquatch is stronger and of course lockers… any kind of lift (except body lift) increases running cv and tie...
I gave up “wheeling“ 20-30 years ago (old & sick). I bought the bronco to get back out there some in my old age and it has done it…not like the old days but when I can…heading through rubicon next month (I hope)….
Calif. DOT (CalTrans) used have vehicle/equipment painted orange but around 2000 had to change to white when manufacturers became unwilling to do special paint, even for fleets…good luck with getting them to change for you…
“Limited slip” was about all there was back in the day (and few even had them, many rubicon trips with “open” diffs)…I need all the help I can get so: my early branco had limited slip in the rear and did well…my CJ2a had a Warn Hi-torque ( basically two one way roller clutches) in the rear and a...
Things covered pretty good….I would just add; join some kind of off road group & go on runs with them…make friends…don’t go alone…learn and find out what ya ”need” (or even if ya like it)…much slower then the bike…enjoy!
