My dealer told me today that ARB has a classic top similar to the old Broncos and a modular hard top in development. Been looking for more info but havenāt found anything. Does anyone know anything about these products?
@JBronco Just noticed you have a GTI too! I have an MK 7 GTI and those newer engines are just something else. It's insane how downtuned the engines are from the factory. A huge difference from the MK 6 and earlier.
That ECU tune I did gave it all that extra power, but also gave me a little...
Lol, acceleration is not a fair comparison by any means. My GTI is stock but has an ECU tune to pull out an extra like 70hp and 90lbs torque.
Ford has always been my favorite American brand for creature comforts and attention to detail. They definitely compare to VW in that regard very well...
Iām no longer at home with my tape measure but with the seats folded down it looks like thereās about a 7ā gap between the seat edge and the exterior wall. So most likely they would fit. With the seats up thereās obviously plenty of floor space.
I didnāt realize this was an upgrade cargo mat...
The 2.3 feels perfectly capable for this vehicle. If I wasnāt planning on towing stuff, I probably would stick with it. It feels very similar to the Wrangler 4 cylinder turbos if youāve driven one of those before.
I don't think they look right on the 2DR, but that's just me. I like them more on the 4DR.
I've always loved having a roof rack, but I'm coming from hatchbacks and such. It really depends what you're hauling though. I prefer hitch racks for bikes (and even have a hitch on my GTI so I can haul...
Keep in mind that 70lbs can easily become much more under sway. Youāll likely see that lag loosening up before it fails, but itās almost certainly going to fail eventually. Having 2 points of attachment to the ceiling would still allow you a nice amount of movement for mounting purposes while...
They are more plastic looking than I expected. That said, they match the MIC roof. I was planning to order them for my 4-door from the dealer (since the build tool doesn't let you order them on a 4-door badlands), but now I'm second guessing.
Just pulled up the equipment info on this build, in case anyone's curious...
- High package (313A)
- Modular steel front bumper
- Cargo area protector
- Towing package
- Connected nav (I thought this was a Lux exclusive, but apparently you can get it for $700 š¤£)
- Aux switches
- Roof rails
-...
Can confirm. Iām borrowing a dealer OB 2DR right now. Front bumper is steel. Rear is plastic shit. Stepped on the corner to look at the roof rails and it bent down.
DAMN! I have my dealer demo now and I only get 100 miles before they start charging $0.25/mile. Considering I live like 15 miles from the dealer and had plans with a friend this evening, I've already clocked like 60 miles between those 2 things. I might have to cross my threshold a little...
Capital Ford in Charlotte. I don't know if they are only doing this for people who have already ordered or not. I just got an email from them 2-3 weeks ago saying they were getting one in and letting people with orders borrow it for up to 24 hours / 100 miles.
Worth calling them and seeing if...
I have big dogs. Literally the first thing I did when I got home was see how difficult it would be to remove seats. I will probably try that in the morning. Looks like itās just 4 bolts.
That said, I was pleasantly surprised at how flat the back folds down to. If this is how much room the 2DR...
Out driving right now and meeting up with a Jeep buddy who snagged a 4XE recently. Will answer these later tonight! Happy to snap any photos tomorrow morning since itāll be dark before Iām home today.
Dealer let me borrow this thing for 24 hours! Anything you guys want to know / see?
Only been poking around for the last 15 minutes and already even more excited for my 4DR Badlands to eventually be built. Iām not allowed to take the door / roof off, sadly. Apparently someone who borrowed it...
