Damn keeping the Hetz I guess lol. They sound so good without blockers. The kickers are slightly louder, so I’m of the mind of leaving them in rears.
ok In the name of science I cut off the capacitor off my only wiring harness and the Hertz sounded significantly better. Huge difference. Don’t put a blocker on that hertz lol.
Tested Kicker CS without a blocker, and yep Hetz still beat. With blocker, kicker does better.
They were weak/less full compared to the kicker CS which shocked me. I used the same blocker though when comparing. The crap part is the connections are not normal on these. Two large males.
I also tested the hetz 6.5 and it was weaker than Kicker CS and OEM beat out all.
I’ll test the kickers...
I recall testing between OEM and kickers in the rear and it was slightly better. They definitely sound weak, but with the 3 fronts upgraded, I think I’m satisfied with the overall sound now.
I’m still missing the left speaker install actually, due to being short on wiring harnesses. Just the...
Slightly better sound with these bass blockers for center PRV woofer. Skar Audio SK300HZBB-PR Elite Frequency Filters - Eliminates Frequencies 0-300 Hz at 4 Ohms - Pair https://a.co/d/e8IoN0B
Here are the bass blockers that sounded significantly better with the 4” kicker CS. PAC - BB4PR BB-4PR Pair of 4" Bass Blocker https://a.co/d/eq2yqyS
Yeah, I’m guessing only 6.5 in rears would be the difference. That PRV woofer is pretty darn good in my center. It might be worth a try in the rear, but I think I’m good for now.
I’m just glad I didn’t trash my 6.5 OEM speaker like did with the rest.
In the name of science, I tested two different bass blockers on multiple speakers.
The test was done with 4” Hertx DCX-1003, Kicker CS, and PRV woofer for Center. W/ 300 Hz and a 0-600 hz bass blocker.
I also test two different aftermarket 6.5 kick panel speakers. Currently have B&O, no mods...
I’m going to solder two different Bass Blockers Tomorrow. 300hz and a 0-600hz. I’ll test the 3 new fronts with the blockers and without any. I’ll report back.
The fronts I have are Kicker CS, which I don’t think I like and Hertz DCX-1003. The center is a PRV woofer. I have the B&O, no mods on...
I have the harness for the 6.5 kick panel speakers but returned the kicker CS, didn’t like the sound, waiting on a Hertz woofer. Have two types of blockers, was going to try with each and without on the fronts.
I just got the PRV 4” for the Center like you but I’m not sure how to mount it. Any suggestions? How did you do it?
Did you just screw in one side and cut the post on that and just attached to the post on the other? I see no harnesses you can buy to make this work. Maybe find a metal bracket and...
I’m actually a female, but whatevs. I think it’s important to live with it a little while and see what works. I have two vehicles and just doing trial and error on the sound, not driving till I’m done.
It’s so weird, I didn’t hate it the first couple of weeks, but after it seemed so bad. I dunno.
The sub and kick panel don’t seem to be the main issue but I’m looking to replace everything but the sub and amp right now. They all seem super cheap. I feel like I’m going down a rabbit hole I was...
We both have B&O. I don’t think he swapped the amp, and I didn’t either. Just doing speakers for now. Dealer friend stated that doing more, voids warranty. The rear change out is the easiest. Probably best to go with new pods and 6.5 with FORscan
