Said it in another thread, start carrying something like a bank card around and swipe it between the window and rubber seal every morning in cold temps. Get used to it, i have to do it on my FJ every morning...
Don't remember who, but someone here made extensions using round wooden pegs that he cut at the right length with rubber end caps ( like at the end of a cane ) that you can get at the hardware store, worked perfectly. The peg goes inside the original hollow bump stop

Yes the tie rod is weak, BUT it did what it is supposed to do. Problem here is a lot of pushing on the inner and outer side of the tire, If the OP would have attacked the obstacle straight instead of wheels turned, this would not have happened, then again the obstacle, wet muddy logs, probably...
My Bronco is on order, and i am trading in my 09 FJ for it, but i am having second guesses too. LOVE my FJ . I would keep my FJ if i could, Hell i would not even think of looking at the Broncos if FJs were still made...
First Aid kit. Shovel is ok ( no need for a 200$ off road shovel, by one at an Army surplus that folds ), recovery boards are Meh, most of them are no good after the first use, the plastic teeth that are supposed to grip break or meld because of the spinning tires.
As a fellow Canadian i would look at your Province's road laws , to see if you are allowed to modify the color of your running lights before touching them, just to be sure...
Soooo, no frame mounted solution without welding or drilling yet ? One maker said that Ford did not drill holes in the frame to accommodate the no-drill solution ?
