  1. Bronco Build & Price date

This might be my new favorite thread.
  2. Transmission Torque Capacity

https://www.getrag-ford.com/files/theme/downloads/6MTI550_Manual_Inline_Transmission.pdf Scalable to 800nm which is roughly 600 foot pounds (same as the 10 speed auto FYI). I’ll be getting the manual, and a tune... I’ll let you know if I break it.... I’m not too worried.
  3. Transmission Torque Capacity

if you go to the source, getrag website, it mentions the 400 lbs torque rating (I would be comfortable going right up against that, that’s what it was designed to handle all day). It also mentions that it can be upgradable for higher torque applications. I’ll dig around and see if I can post a link.
  4. Which power train won't be a lemon?

A turbo by itself actually has way less moving parts than an internal combustion 8 cylinder engine . Turbo failure usually comes from poor castings etc in the manufacturing process. Same can happen to any of the hundreds of moving parts in a V8. The tolerance for manufacturing defects is lower...
  5. Bronco Badlands leather interior w/ orange contrast stitching and trim color accents

Has this been confirmed? Would be fantastic if it has, but everything I’ve seen has said otherwise.
  6. 4x4 Class 101 (Saving Broncos from Permanent Mall Crawler Duty)

Ok maybe I’m old school, or old-ish, old lite... but I’d recommend to start building your knowledge with a book. By far the best I’ve come across is the Four Wheelers Bible. Great intro to everything 4x4. Drivetrain, recovery, equipment, techniques (surprised no one has mentioned it yet)...
  7. Airing up (after airing down for camping and offroading)?

I have 2x of the 88p, great little compressor. I basically attach both to the bat terminals, and fill up 2x tires at a time. With 33’s it takes me maybe 3 mins per tire... with changing to the other two tires total fill up time is 8 mins tops to air up.
  8. Getrag Transmission: German or Chinese?

Each company sets their own quality control standards. Many a fine product comes out of China (most with a reputable non-Chinese company setting their quality control standards). Think apple etc. if Getrag has set up a professional QC department in China then no worries. If not , then yes, worry...
  9. Pics of 2.3L engine & underhood compartment in 2021 Bronco

Ask that question to Toyota truck owners. Turbo 4 cylinder was in the Toyota truck that top gear tried to destroy and couldn’t. With the right gearing a turbo 4 will be just fine.
  10. 2021 Bronco MPG?

The diesel had me excited for a while too, until I found out no manual tranny, and $60k.
  11. Dealer aftersales / aftermarket modifications package?

The accessory packages, any prices on those?
  12. Dealer aftersales / aftermarket modifications package?

Wow, well done! I’m sure you are about to be inundated with questions. But thank you for posting this!
  13. 2021 Bronco MPG?

Was one of the reasons I am steering away from the Jeep. The engine felt under powered and combined with poor fuel economy, I thought ford could do way better. Mid teens MPGs I can live with if I’m driving something with some serious giddy up.
  14. Why is the Toyota 4runner "behind?"

I currently drive a 99 4runner, and have done since 2002 (I’ve had a 3rd gen 4runner since 97, I’m mildly obsessed). I change the oil ever other year (only gets about 3k mikes a year). Only things that have broken Have basically been From my doing (lifted, boosted, locked, and driven hard) other...
  15. What accessories do you plan on getting?

Maybe not, those yeti goal zero power packs are pretty cool. Just nice not to have to remember to charge something
  16. What accessories do you plan on getting?

I’ll gradually be adding overland gear for an overland set up as well. That in mind it will be a daily driver. I have a bunch of gear off my current rig I can switch over. Hoping to equip mine with: Roof rack (lock and load maybe) Ford perf tune for 2.3 Non standard wheels Gate food tray thing...
  17. Cruise Control with a manual

Turbo equipped motors also help. They can bring on power delaying the need to down shift. But you drive a manual... you have to manually operate it once in a while... you’ll get used to it.
  18. What do all of us future Bronco owners do for a living?

Pilot. Hopefully still have a job come delivery time. Some interesting gigs some of you have. If I was to try and put everyone in a category it would be, out of the ordinary, or striving for out of the ordinary.
  19. Rear axle seal

Where did it leak out of? Did ford say anything about it? Thanks for the heads up BTW
  20. Not a gear head so explain to me 2.3 vs 2.7 . . .

The MT is upgradable to handle more torque per road and track and getrag. That said what is involved with “upgradable”.
