  1. Pics of 2.3L engine & underhood compartment in 2021 Bronco

Yeah, the 3.5L EcoBoost is huge. If I remember correctly, the 2.7L has the manifolds integral to the block which helps hold the turbos in closer to the engine and saves space as well. The 3.0L is basically a bored & stroked 2.7L. Whether or not the 3.5L fits, using the 3.0L means everything will...
  2. Antimatter Blue??? Bronco Sport in Alto Blue

Was driving behind an Alto Blue mustang today and realized that is the Bronco color I actually want. Still looked black because it was an overcast day, but enough blue that the color was obvious.
  3. Pics of 2.3L engine & underhood compartment in 2021 Bronco

If you can fit a TTV6 or an inline 4, you can fit a NA V8. My understanding is the Ranger engine bay was designed to fit a Coyote V8, and similarly the 2.7 was designed to fit anywhere you can fit a Coyote 5.0.
  4. Add a Second Battery???

I currently run an ARB fridge in my Volkswagen on family camping trips, including multi-day, and have a voltage cut set at 11.8 volts if I remember correctly. The current draw on that fridge - even when I have it set in freezer mode - is so low that I've never once had it cut out or had any...
  5. Pics of 2.3L engine & underhood compartment in 2021 Bronco

    1) There's clearly room for a large naturally aspirated V8. Look at all the room ahead of the engine block 2) I see mounts for an engine cover, which may clean things up a bit visually, but in any case there's a lot going on here. 3) In 30 years when I park this at car shows (or the day I take...
  6. In the future...some non car-person will call/think your Bronco is a Jeep...how will you respond?

My three year old now recites to me that there are three kinds of off-road cars: Land Rovers, Jeeps, and Broncos, and for the most part, can correct distinguish between those three. I haven't yet tried to explain 'Yotas, Unimogs, Humvees, Sportsmobiles, Raptors, or any of the other custom...
  7. Jeep Is Installing Solar Chargers Off-Road On The Rubicon And In Moab For The New Hybrid Wrangler

No one will ever know because it's a PHEV. If it were a BEV only with the same range, I expect it would be easy to spot all the depleted Wranglers stranded on various obstacles 6-8 miles before the end of the trail :ROFLMAO: I'd far rather have a 150-200 mile range BEV off-roader if such a...
  8. Jeep Is Installing Solar Chargers Off-Road On The Rubicon And In Moab For The New Hybrid Wrangler

These solar charge stations are sure to be an archeological curiosity within 30 years.
  9. Jeep Is Installing Solar Chargers Off-Road On The Rubicon And In Moab For The New Hybrid Wrangler

This was exactly my first thought. The environmental impact on the landscape & vegetation, not to mention the eyesore, has got to be worse than burning a few ounces of petroleum per mile. If we have to wait for two plus hours to charge halfway through a 45 mile trail, let's just go back to...
  10. What's the miscellaneous specification you're hoping for?

Fog lights to the bumper pre-wired on non-fog light Broncos, so I can add the OEM switch at the dashboard and not have to use an accessory switch.
  11. What's with the manual trans hype?

I know it's an old thread, but I see it's active at the moment, so if I may: Manual transmission hype? Manual transmissions are not new. Not everyone buys into the hype of letting the machine decide when to shift for you. In fact all the hype around automatic transmissions has almost killed...
  12. 4-Door Too Small?

I tried to warn Ford about this over two years ago. My Land Rover-loving soul was seeing Everest based prototypes running around and imagining the 4-door would be big enough to support a 3rd row, Defender 110 style. Honestly, they could have done it if it were a priority, but I expect they were...
  13. First Edition Bronco reservation on eBay for $15K

No, we have not yet found a big enough sucker to buy a First Edition reservation. Completed eBay listings
  14. HELP!! Need to work through locker or no locker!!

Works fine so long as you won't be encountering dry pavement, or will remember to turn it off when you get through the slippery spots. 4H is equivalent to a locked center differential, and is not intended for long term pavement driving. 4A bridges the gap between a part-time 4x4 and an AWD vehicle.
  15. Black Diamond Daily Driver

Only on Badlands. The rest get 4.46.
  16. Ford should offer this for the lovely Bronco.

Hmmm, the naming should make it clear it competes with the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Can we call this one the "$30 Grand Bronco Wannabe"? ?
  17. 2021 Bronco Build & Price pre-launch waiting room
