Would an order that already has a build date be previewed? Or would the rescheduling of the build date mostly be transparent to the dealer unless they manually looked it up?
Question:
My last build date notification email said 8/30. Contacted my dealer after the MIC announcement and he said it showed 9/27 in the system. Since then, obviously updated to soft top. When you updated yours did you get another email or did you have to manually look up your order?
There are ways around it, right? Disconnect the VINs from our reservation. Put in a new build. Do they HAVE to build an assigned VIN? Just scrap it and assign a new one. Probably too much work for them to do, so they would rather just keep us in limbo for 6 to 8 months with no definitive...
I asked my dealer but I don’t think they would even entertain trying since they know orders can’t be altered after a VIN is assigned. Is there something I’m missing or need to tell them?
End of the year is too hopeful in my eyes.
They literally worked on the design of this particular hardtop for awhile. They could barely manufacture the current tops to satisfactory quality now they are going to implement new tooling and a new process?
For all of the broken promises so far, Ford...
For the Bronco it is definitely not the chips. It is the MIC hardtop. Since we were assigned VINs wayyyyy before there were any rumblings of production troubles we weren’t even given the chance to switch to a soft top.
So this has been a major disappointment since I received a first build date of 6/14. Pushed back 8 times now. Current date is unofficially 9/27.
Is there anyway to switch my order to a soft top? I am highly skeptical Ford will be able to build a viable hard top this year and I have a feeling...
Yeah real cool and all but I’ve had an assigned VIN since May. Is there anyway to switch my order to a soft top? I got trapped into this and can’t change so it is indefinitely delayed due to fords ineptitude with scheduling.
For the love of god, let people with VINs switch to a soft top. Your POOR scheduling caused us to be locked into this stupid MIC fiasco. If you can’t do this, give us a new VIN with a soft top. Figure it out.
So Ford, Webasto and the engineers have had months to scale up the current hard top, yes in a shortened time frame. If all it takes is a “few tweaks” to existing tooling, why wasn’t this addressed in the many months beforehand? If they were so confident in producing launch tops beforehand, what...
Let’s look at the reality here:
Ford has literally missed on everything promised so far.
The promised dates of new hard tops? Don’t count on it. Don’t believe Ford anymore because their planning and scheduling has been absolutely horrible up to this point.
Calling it now: hard tops won’t be...
