  1. Alpine Loop - Lake City, CO feedback?

How long depends on how fast your drive and the number of stops for pictures and other things. I carry extra fuel, but have never needed it on trails, including the loop.
  2. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

Took it up to 13,200 feet on Imogene Pass out of Ouray, CO. Here for 10 days. Also have done the Last Dollar trail, red mountain trail and a couple of others.
  3. Alpine Loop - Lake City, CO feedback?

You will be fine. We are in Ouray now and did Imogene yesterday. Black Bear pass is closed due to a rock slide. They are working on it and hopefully it will open before we leave.
  4. National Park Service Will Cite Drivers of AWD Cars For Driving on 4WD-Only Trails

Having seen many vehicles that are on trails they should not be on, I am in favor of fining people who have those vehicles. It is not because they might get stuck, it is because they might need rescuing, or worse perish. If they die, heirs may want to sue and the park service will have to pay...
  5. Bronco screams forward downshifting from 3rd to 2nd in low range

The software fix did help a lot, but there are still times when the rev matching is too aggressive in 4 low. They really need two maps, one in high range and one in low range.
  6. Tail of the Dragon photos

Did it in a C6 Corvette. Lots of fun.
  7. Semi-annual trip to Ouray

Be there next month for 10 days, looking forward to it. Last year the Bronco was brand new so it was a learning experience. The last 6 times before that were in a Jeep.
  8. Black Bear Pass

Looking forward to doing it in August. We have been watching for the opening as we couldn't do it last year, and it just opened this week.
  9. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

Yesterday we did the Cashin Mine trail which is in Colorado on the western boarder. The trail to the mine was pretty easy and it obviously was a good producing mine, as there were several buildings, and several mine entrances and air chambers. Then we took the 4wd trail above the mines which...
  10. Wisconsin 2 door power running boards

Best ones I have seen (but not used) are the Aries Actiontrac powered boards.
  11. C, D, E and F rated tires

OK, but to my point, the 39" KM3 (which I like) is available in C range only. For rock crawling, C is the range to have. In all my years of rock crawling, I have only damaged a sidewall once. I am a believer in BFG tires, I run KO2 on my Bronco, but I did run the KMs on my Jeep. Years ago, a...
  12. C, D, E and F rated tires

For rock crawling you want a sidewall that is flexible. That is why all really big 40"+ tires that I know of are C rated. I only use C rated tires for rock crawling. Stiff tires do not flex and grab rocks.
  13. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

Since the town is busy this weekend, we went where hardly anyone else goes. First to the Anticline which overlooks Hurrah Pass and the Chicken Corners trail, and then we went exploring. Found a point (on a legal trail) that had no tracks. We may have been the first people to visit the point...
  14. Airing Down a Repaired Tire?

When I got a screw in the tread and took it to Discount Tire, because I off road a lot, they plugged it and then internal patched it. I have aired down to 12 several times with no problem. I do recommend you carry a tire patch/plug kit and an air compressor to be safe. (or have a friend you...
  15. 2024 Badlands vs 2024 Wildtrak

In my opinion, the Wildtrak is more like a desert racer and the BL is more of a rock crawler. For beach use, to me, it would make more sense to get the Wildtrak. You don't need a swaybar disconnect for the beach. My 2 cents.
  16. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

Did some exploring around Hart Draw on the northeast side. Also where it "empties" into the plain that leads down to the Needles district of Canyonlands National Park. Some great overlooks.
  17. Vegas MSRP Dealership

I have bought vehicles from both, and both were great. I had the opposite happen to me, I bought my 2019 Raptor from Friendly and when I sent them a message about a Bronco they never got back to me. Team Ford, Rich Spah, a referral from this forum, was great.
  18. Moab Meet up Day 2: Gold Bar Rim 4-30-24

No. I think someone found him. He said he could hear someone coming, and then there was no response to our radio calls. We tried several more times and then drove out. We always try to help anyone that has a problem on the trails.
  19. Moab Meet up Day 2: Gold Bar Rim 4-30-24

I was with the rescue buggy in my RZR. He went down to the wall and I stayed up on the top (wife did not want to do the wall in the RZR). We had done Metal Masher and were heading out when we heard the call on the family radio. I thought the problem was at the other end on the trail near...
  20. Moab Meet Up Day 5: Cliff Hanger 5-3-24

I have done Pritchett three times in my vehicle when I have the 4 door Jeep on 40's. The last time I did not need to be winched. Did it in the fall riding in my friends buggy and was amazed at how scenic the trail is. In the past, driving, I had to pay attention to the trail and didn't look...
