  1. Bronco Interior: Plastics, Synthetics, and Leather

I'd like to see the leather Recaros from the Mustang performance packages make their way in as an option, those are really nice seats. I'm also hoping for the Raptor style wheel and metal paddle shifts for the auto. Leather touchpoints (wheel, manual trans shifter, etc) are my favorite. Leather...
  2. Good News for the V8 dreamers?

Same as what Stampede posted in the engines thread: https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/2021-bronco-engines-i-need-at-least-a-v6.827/page-8#post-17018, but worth spinning off into its own thread. The link he posted gives a little more detail...
  3. 2021 Bronco engines - I need at least a V6

So they are selling it with the diesel engine and then some local outfit in Australia is swapping in coyotes and you can buy it at a Ford dealer? Sort of like the Roush stuff? I know that article claims it "will adhere to OEM durability and safety requirements and be sold through Ford dealers...
  4. 2.3 ECO, MPG with Lift/Tires

I also pulled this one out, which is the 4.3L chevy engine, a N/A V6. It shows a similar shape to the turbo ones, even with cylinder deactivation disabled, with peak efficiency a fair ways away from peak torque. Why is that?
  5. 2.3 ECO, MPG with Lift/Tires

EPA doesn't have one for the 2.3 unfortunately. They do have the 1.6 ecoboost as another data point for a 4cyl turbo Ford engine, it shows a similar shape, and the peak BSFC is actually better on the 2.7 than here:
  6. 2.3 ECO, MPG with Lift/Tires

This has me super curious because it didn't jive with what I understood about engine efficiency. So I actually managed to dig up a BSFC chart for the 2.7L ecoboost - source: https://www.epa.gov/vehicle-and-fuel-emissions-testing/combining-data-complete-engine-alpha-maps As we can see, the peak...
  7. 2.3 ECO, MPG with Lift/Tires

You obviously have a lot of knowledge in this so I appreciate the info here. I was under the impression (as I think many of us were) that the little 4 cyl economy cars tended to only get significantly better mileage in the city, where they are spending a lot of time coasting or idling in traffic...
  8. 2.3 ECO, MPG with Lift/Tires

Out of curiosity, have you driven one with it in 'snow/slippery' mode and still had the same issue? I haven't driven any modern fords so I'm curious how much of a difference the driving mode makes in this respect.
  9. 2.3 ECO, MPG with Lift/Tires

Up to a point, yes. At some point when the little engine is being driven flat out everywhere and the big one is just lugging along to keep up, the big one will be better for fuel economy. A little 4 cyl sports car at its absolute top speed should be getting worse fuel economy than a bigger...
  10. [Unofficial] Production Bronco Renders based on Bronco R

I like it. I'd personally like the grill slightly narrower (less tall, not less wide), to bring it tighter around the headlights. I also am hoping it ends up with the rounded fender flares rather than the squared off ones like this. But even if not, this looks great.
  11. 2.3 ECO, MPG with Lift/Tires

The 2.7 won't get any better gas mileage with bigger tires and a lift, it'll just be happier doing it. Can't really get away from bad aero and more rotating mass. Personally my mitsubishi is already absolutely terrible on gas for its size, my best recorded mileage was 18mpg so not really an...
  12. 2021 Bronco (U725) Production Headlight Photo

I've tried some different stuff with rally light setups - visibility is very important when you're blasting down a twisty forest road in the pitch dark. Eventually settled on keeping whatever type of headlight the vehicle originally came with, and putting the brightest possible bulb of that type...
  13. 2020 Ford Bronco Concept Rendering

I'd like to see the central bar a little more pronounced like a narrower version of the Bronco R's, but overall it looks good.
  14. What's Your Price Cap?

I'm willing to spend up to the price of an F150 Raptor if it has everything I want. That's what I have tentatively budgeted for 2022 when I'll be planning to buy one. That's $75k Canadian, I think 60k USD after some options? Everything I want is basically an F150 Raptor in a 2 door SUV form...
  15. 2021 Bronco (U725) Production Headlight Photo

Looks good to me! Seems like the narrow inside part will tie nicely into a smaller Bronco R style center bar
  16. Topless

This sounds good to me. While it is far from a deal-breaker, I'll be pleased if there is a completely fixed option - cutting out the possibility of leaks and rattles for a feature I have no intention of using would be nice.
  17. Are you going to custom-order your Bronco or pick one off the lot?

I expect that if there is a Bronco I want it will be a fairly high trim, highest or second highest if the highest is a SFA rock crawling version. If I'm paying that much for a vehicle, I'd rather pay a bit more and get exactly the vehicle I want in terms of colors, etc, and will custom order it...
  18. Jeep and Chevrolet's Reaction to New Ford Bronco

They dipped a big toe into the water with the Colorado ZR2 but yeah, I'd expect that if GM comes out with a proper competitor it will be only if the Bronco (and new Defender, perhaps) are successful for a couple years first. It's a very wait and see, reactive attitude from them a lot of the time.
  19. Jeep and Chevrolet's Reaction to New Ford Bronco

THIS I definitely agree with, and would go so far as to say that the 2.7 likely has more torque at any RPM than the wrangler motors. At least ever since Jeep dumped the 4.0 for the V6es. I'll also agree with the others that the Ecoboost is a less favorable comparison to a N/A V8 though, in the...
  20. 2020 Ford Bronco Concept Rendering

The GT was announced at the Detroit Auto Show in 2015, wasn't it? I remember how breathless the internet was about it then, maybe Ford is hoping the Bronco will make that big of a splash. Unfortunately that may mean we don't get many details leading up if they are wanting maximum impact when we...
