Yeah, because of the location of the attachment points, these rigid handles, especially if only connected on one side of the handle are sure to break or bend. The rope style versions are a much safer choice at a fraction of the cost.

They are now all aluminum. The Gen 1 version I have has steel and aluminum for the rails, and all aluminum cross bars. The price has gone up. And fortunately, I found a way to get a good discount.
