Here's the update on my situation. Took it to the Ford dealer in my area (who I've had great experiences with service with previous Ford vehicles). I brought the TSB for MIC tops with me, which I recommend bringing in if you're having the same problems. Service tech said this is the first one...
Based on what I've seen in the forums, it's happening on both 2 and 4 door. It's the same crap from the same supplier. Taking it to dealer on Wednesday (along with a printed TSB on this) to get the replacement process going.
Not surprised with it at the bottom of the list. You're right, unfortunately the (Ford) extended warranty does not cover the top, just mechanical. I opted for the extended warranty also, covered to 80K.
Ford owners have the lowest expectations? Hey now, that’s not fair! I expected my MIC top to last at least as long long as the excitement of bringing home a brand-new Bronco before noticing all the defects, and even that was too optimistic. But seriously, you nailed it. We shouldn’t have to play...
No way I would buy a Ford MIC top. Search this forum (and others)....what you on them is only scratching the surface. Like rats, there are way, way more problems. Spend your hard earned money on an aftermarket. From what I've seen, they look good. Oh, in case you need more motivation to NOT but...
Agreed. There tops are shit. Disposable item. Many will fail over the life of these vehicles. Ford needs to warrantee these longer. And yet, they keep offering them on new.
Wait, yeah. $64k. Loaded OBX with every option (including the 2.7 when you could get it in that model). SAS Lux + mod bumper + metal skids, etc. do I need to dig out the window sticker for proof? Sticker was $68k.
Agreed. What's more frustrating is that "well, that's just a small crack", or "you can barely see it:" Doesn't matter. It's there. It's flaw in manufacturing. At over $60K, I won't just "live" with it. Getting it fixed--Ford owes me a new one--and will beat the shit out of this thing until my 3...
Here. Crack just getting started, and around the crack, the plastic is wavy, as if there has been water penetration (?). You know, the cardboard shit inside the eggshell thin plastic. Wasn't there when new. :)
Did a wash this AM, and as with every wash, I look carefully at the MIC top as there seems to be a lot of failures. Well, have a crack starting in the center panel, behind the driver. Here is the background for information:
2024 Outerbanks, purchased in August 2024 with less than 6000 miles...
Color match option For the MIC top. Solve the seal problems at the window pillar as other have mentioned for 4 doors…make these enhancements and you have my money.
I get all of my touchup paint from here. Dead match to stock with all previous vehicles. I’ve had good luck with this company.

A little late getting on this forum...what a great resource! Picked up my Azure Gray about a month ago. A few additions, nothing major. Loving this thing so far! Just finished a ceramic coat. I love how the color flops throughout the day...blue during the day, flops to gray at sunset.
