Motion ratio is not effected by wheel spacers, ie, lower ball joint motion doesnāt change. But king pin axis does change, ie, orientation of knuckle. So as king pin angles change then leveraging longer spacers would indeed increase wheel travel.

How much preload are on the springs? How much lift at wheel? Was everything torqued properly when under static equilibrium?
If your ride height is excessively skewed towards rebound with too much preload then there is nothing wrong with the coilovers. Just an installation issue. No coilovers...
