  1. Admit it, your rig is a "mall crawler"...

In comparison to some of you guys, mine is one step higher than a "mall crawler". It's a "museum piece"! Holy Crap do you guys put your cars through the paces! Not saying that's bad. It's what they're built for, but I'm still in the honeymoon period. Other than a slippery grass field or sandy...
  2. Touch up paint (eruption green)?

Or perhaps the actual part number for Eruption Green paint pen? I can probably zero in on it via the ford website that way, I think? Who ever is in charge of that website, needs to spend a little more time on being descriptive of the parts! It has my Bronco loaded in (I keep track of my own...
  3. Touch up paint (eruption green)?

Tried to buy some touch up paint for my bronco yesterday at the dealer, but it seems to be as precious as gold. They didn't have any, their supplier is out, and closest dealership that did have it is about an hour away in DC traffic. I'm looking for some Eruption Green touch up. Got a couple of...
  4. I get these 3 codes. It’s not all the time.

Isn't there a known weakness in the 2.7's alternator location and getting it wet? OP, not sure if you have the 2.7? If so, your avatar picture (assume that is you) might be a clue to the cause?
  5. How to check transmission oil level (no dipstick)? Mileage to change engine and transmission oil?

Just in case someone else comes along to find this thread, Ducati is correct, mine is exactly like this. To clarify "left side", it is the driver's side of the transmission, arrow in the chart is pointing towards the front of the car. If you've never had it removed before, it may be worth...
  6. Seafoam / oil change

Yea, I’ll pour and quickly look under to see if it’s flushing out. On my Bronco, it seems to be about 1/2 a quart before it turns the same color as the new going in. That said, there is no doubt that I’ve not gotten it all out every time in every car, the odds are definitely against that, yet...
  7. Seafoam / oil change

Thanks, I do like to do this. Comes from the old tried and true farmers and their 30 year old equipment. They were known to use a little bit of kerosene in the oil before a change to clean up any varnishing inside the engine. I think this is the exact same philosophy. I don’t do it every time...
  8. Seafoam / oil change

First, I am NOT advocating for anyone to do this. I am simply showing my results. I have been doing this for the last 20 years on my cars (95 LS400, 05 4Runner V8, 06 Mazda 3, 03 Lexus GS430, 07/13/15 GTI, 08 Volvo XC90 V8, 13 Highlander, 14 Mercedes E350, 14 Tiquan, 20 Mercedes GLS 450) and...
  9. Lincoln Bronco?

I agree MayhemMike, 100%! As someone who has owned two Toyotas and two Lexus's in the past, I will never buy another Lexus. Just too close to each other and have found better reliability in the more simpler form. Same with VW/Audi. Why would I spend $80k on an Audi Q7 when I can get a VW Atlas...
  10. Lincoln Bronco?

As an admitted Costco pavement cruiser myself with mine, I agree with the comments on price point for such a car, but also would love to see a Lincoln version of the Bronco too. Perhaps along side the Raptor. Want to spend $90k, then you can either have the pumped up Raptor, or the ultra...
  11. Convince me to buy a Bronco

My opinion - if the open air experience isn't at the very top of your list, then for your needs, I would say the F150 is probably the better pick. I say that, because the trade off for having a truck bed would be the removable top, but if that isn't a key element that attracts you to the Bronco...
  12. Coolant level exactly at minimum - only driven 2,200 miles

As someone who changed the fluids in the differentials, transfer case, and transmission at 4k miles to get out the initial break-in materials, it is blatantly obvious to me that all fluids were set to the minimum….at best!
  13. Share your transition from Hard Top to Soft Top!

Not going to lie.....that, is awesome! I like the top, but I do wish Ford had a soft top option for the 2 door that allowed the rear to be squared off so when in safari mode you could have that canopy/tail hang over the cargo area too. 1st world problem though for me, I'd love to have this bronco!
  14. Our Bronco Story on World Autism Awareness Day: Ford gifts custom "Bluey" Bronco for teen with autism

I'm 51 and this Bronco was my 50th to myself. Timing lined up as such that I needed to replace a car to get ready for a 16 year old and was not going to give him my beloved 2014 Mercedes E350 as his first car, for many obvious reasons. So it became a 2014 VW Tiquan instead for him. When I went...
  15. Our Bronco Story on World Autism Awareness Day: Ford gifts custom "Bluey" Bronco for teen with autism

I walk in your shoes OP. My daughter (14) is non-verbal. I could say many wonderful things about you and your family, but I suspect you already know because you’re living proof of it all! My son (no autism) is in the midst of college applications and interviews. I engaged on one interview...
  16. First new Ford...Probably the last Ford

100% agree! First thing I do when I buy a car, new or used. I spend a weekend on a full clay bar detail, from the rims to the top of the antenna. Always feel I know every square inch of the car when I’m done, and bonds me to it. One wouldn’t think a brand new car would benefit much from a clay...
  17. Share your transition from Hard Top to Soft Top!

Not until Easter.... Then, it's on (or...well...OFF)!!
  18. Possibility of Future Bronco Raptor R

I think if they're going to do the V8, then they should probably do a redesign in general of the Bronco, perhaps a through back to the 1980's version now and move on from the 60's retro version. Thing about V8's, they add even more weight. Not sure if that is a good thing for a mid-sized frame...
  19. First new Ford...Probably the last Ford

No argument from me on your 2023 GTI experience. They lost me with this current MK8 version. VW is heading back those dark days of the late 90’s unfortunately in many regards, and became clear to me that they’re trying to push buyer into the more expensive cousins at Audi. But in all honesty, I...
  20. First new Ford...Probably the last Ford

I have to respectfully disagree on the VW, especially the GTI that OP had. I’ve had 4 of them over the years, all truly spectacular and as reliable as any Toyota product I’ve had before (95 LS400, 03 GS430, 05 V8 Runner, 13 Highlander). Never a problem from any of my GTI’s (87, 07, 13, 15)...
