Broke down and ordered the Focal ACX165 to replace the kick panel speakers. Also reached out to a reputable shop in the tri-state area about a custom down firing sub enclosure for the trunk for a shallow mount 10" sub.

Anyone know how many watts the factory amp is sending to the two kick panel speakers?

Dealers will order replacements for you, problem is they're backordered. I took mine off, soaked them in white vinegar, scrubbed them with a firm brush and hit them with a coat of rustoleum primer/paint. Look fine until the new ones get here and only cost a couple bucks.

Spoke to a couple shops today and all agreed that trying to replace the 6.5" kick panel speakers with the factory B&O amp is a waste. It isn't powerful enough to drive aftermarket speakers. The 4" speakers you can get away with since they require little power to run.

I'm using the factory B&O amp to power focal ACX speakers, so I worry that a 12" sub powered by a real amp would be a little much for the rest of it. Also, saving a little space doesn't hurt.

Curious what you both think after getting them hooked up. 12" is tempting, but I don't want something to overwhelm the rest of the stereo.

You can just crimp the female adapters down slightly with a pair of pliers and it will create a snug fit on the speaker terminals. The negative terminal was fine for me, but the positive was loose. If I could do it over, I would have gone to Home Depot and just bought some good insulated...

I just swapped our the two front dash corner speakers with Focal ACX100s and immediately ordered 2 more pairs for the center speaker and rears (will have an extra if anyone is interested). Wow, what a difference. Will probably end up replacing the kick panel speakers as well. For $130, why not?
