Good to hear. In my case, it is a replacement and I can get it balanced. But after 5K or so, I need to rebalance it again.

I have a similar problem. A metal-to-metal vibration noise from the back of the dashboard or the door (at least it sounds like). I also noticed that it seems to be temperature-related. I can only hear it in the morning with a cold start. When I drive back in the afternoon, it is gone.
I use a similar solution. Put it above the TOR Overhead molle panel.
Their panel has enough space to insert the mini dish and secure it. Right now I just use two velco strip to secure it. Works great...
