Drove up to Elk Rapids, MI - where we lived for a few years in the 2010s. Went straight to our favorite beach and walked the shore to the village park. Looking forward to a week cruising the Grand Traverse Bay area and hope to share some more pics…
I’d encourage you to find a local off road park and maybe another B6G member who can take you around. It was really helpful for me to learn the capability and limits of my base non-sas bronco - in a controlled environment with plenty of tow vehicles around. That way, when you’re out in “nature”...
Chat GPT didn’t magically solve this puzzle? Weird.
Badges mean less than the window sticker. What did that say?
If the incorrect badge is the only manufacturing defect on your Bronco (and you didn’t overpay for a non-sas Badlands), consider yourself lucky.
These damned V8 threads are turning me into a troll on a forum I really like. Oh well, here goes…
I’d exchange some performance to get a Toyota 4.0L V6 (the 1GR-FE) swapped into my Bronco. At least then I’d have reliability and simplicity for peace of mind.
Also, I misplaced this somewhere...
Takes a long time and a lot of capital to rebuild that manufacturing infrastructure (and utilities to support it). Hard to hire during a workforce shortage.
I think a general theme across all manufacturers is that the infotainment/tech has crossed a line. It’s a liability and interference more than an improvement. But just like AI, we’re all being told it’s going help us, save us, make life easier for us, etc. Meanwhile, here in reality…
I didn’t think we were talking about F-series trucks. And I tend to agree that they’re more reliable than GM or Stellantis options. I work with government DPW and Public Services departments and they almost universally prefer the Fords as well. But when we’re talking small displacement turbo...
Watched this recently. Might be helpful. Legit perspective from the owner of an expedition company with years (and multiple generations) of experience across Toyota’s platforms.
It’s a tough call. The Bronco is a fun vehicle and the Tacoma can’t really match that. But it seems like the Tacoma better facilitates the fun stuff you drive to in your vehicle. So maybe that balances things out. 🤷
We picked up a 5th gen (2023) 4Runner TRD Off Road for my wife. So, this is the...
Based on the QC on the rest of my Bronco, I’m genuinely happy this option exists. That way, when my meticulously-maintained 2.3 pukes out at 117k miles, I can fork over a few thousand $ to breath life back into this [fun, capable, but ridiculously and shamefully junky] truck. 🤣 💩 🗑️
Meanwhile...
At 35,xxx miles knowing that it’s been back to the dealer umpteen times for warranty repairs and I’ll soon be on my own.
Loose body mount causing clunking sound
Missing firewall grommet
Detached rear window defroster wire
Loose front sway bar link
Broken driver seat recline lever
Rusted steel...
Your profile image makes a strong case for driving it with the stock tire size. But I didn’t do that either, because ground clearance is at a premium for those of us without the Sasquatch package.
